Oscar-nominated actor Gary Busey pleaded guilty to inappropriately touching a woman during a 2022 horror film convention.
The Guardian reported that on Thursday, Busey, 81, admitted to intentionally touching a woman at the New Jersey horror film convention after pleading guilty to criminal sexual misconduct.
“It was not an accidental touching,” Busey stated to the judge via his virtual court appearance.
Three other charges of criminal sexual contact and one charge of attempted criminal sexual contact were dismissed as part of Busey’s plea deal.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Busey was charged with sex crimes after the Cherry Hill Police were called to the Doubletree Hotel back in August 2022, during the annual Monster Mania Convention, at which Busey was a featured guest.
Cherry Hill Police Lt. Robert Scheunemann told the Philadelphia Inquirer they received several complaints and were called to investigate allegations “about contact. It was about touching.”
Busey was accused of groping five women while he took pictures with them at the convention.
Two women alleged Busey grabbed their butts, while a third woman reported he put his face near her breasts while he tried to unlatch her bra.
The grand jury indictment showed two more accusations, including touching a woman’s butt and another woman’s genitals, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Judge Gwendolyn Blue set Busey’s virtual sentencing hearing for September 18, according to 6ABC.
