The Daily Beast retracted an article making the scandalous claim that Jeffrey Epstein introduced First Lady Melania Trump to her husband, President Donald J. Trump.
In the now-deleted article, the outlet detailed the allegations made by journalist Michael Wolff, a well-known fabulist, who, among his greatest hits, claimed that former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley had an affair with Trump.
According to Wolff, Mrs. Trump was introduced to her husband through a modeling agent connected to the notorious sex trafficker, who was found dead in his cell in a high-security federal prison in August 2019. The Daily Beast pulled the piece and apologized after the first lady’s lawyer reached out to the left-wing outlet.
BREAKING: The Daily Beast has RETRACTED their story attempting to link Trump to Epstein via Melania

“Editor’s Note. After this story was published, The Beast received a letter from First Lady Melania Trump’s attorney challenging the headline and framing of the article. After reviewing the matter, the Beast has taken down the article and apologizes for any confusion or misunderstanding,” the outlet said in the note with the amended hyperlink of https://www.thedailybeast.com/epstein-this-story-has-been-removed/.
Wolff first made the claim on a recent episode of “The Daily Beast Podcast” with the outlet’s chief editor, Joanna Coles, during a discussion about Trump’s alleged ties to Epstein.
According to the sleaze-peddler, Mrs. Trump “was very involved in this Epstein relationship. There is this model thing, and she’s introduced by a model agent, both of whom Trump and Epstein are involved with. She’s introduced to Trump that way, Epstein knows her well.”
The Daily Beast would have spared itself the humiliation of having to retract had it bothered to review Wolff’s history of peddling hoaxes, something that X users pointed out with the outlet being deservedly dragged on the platform.
Why any outlet gives Michael Wolff any column inches in 2025 is BEYOND me. pic.twitter.com/SA7aGCduue

A serious publication would have editorial standards to avoid such a thing. But the Daily Beast is not a serious publication. https://t.co/jxjwWcvvME

He said Trump and Nikki Haley had an affair and then when asked about it during an interview pulled a “I can’t hear you” and walked off the interview.

It’s a black eye for Democrats and their media lackeys who have been shamelessly hustling trash in an attempt to link the president to Epstein, throwing everything at the wall and hoping that something will stick.
