Disgraced former TV host/comedian Ellen DeGeneres is back in the headlines, and it’s once again not for any good reason.
According to the Daily Mail, comedian Adam Carolla just made “startling” claims regarding the former talk show host’s show, saying that Ellen’s former staffers were legitimately “scared.”Â
His claims come on the heels of bombshell allegations that Ellen bullied her staff, with multiple former staffers and those connected to the show claiming the same.
Carolla said he got a taste of that during his two guest spots on the show when it was still on the air. Corolla made the claims during an interview with conservative commentator Emily Jashinsky.
What did he say?
Carolla recounted his time on Ellen’s show, which was once ratings mega-hit for the network. He said during one of his appearances, one of the “scared-to-death” pages reminded him to avoid certain topics before going on with her.
“I knew they were scared because it’s like, I was just sitting in the my dressing room and their like segment producer came in, and he went, ‘All right, so we went over all the stuff we’re going to talk about,” you know, Christmas vacation or whatever it was,'” Carolla recounted.
Carolla said he wrote it off at the time, saying, “‘And and I go, ‘Yeah, yeah.'”
“And he goes, ‘You’re not going to talk about meat or beef or anything like that, right?’ “And I go, ‘No, I’m not. I’m I’m I’m just going to talk about the stuff we talked about – going on vacation at Christmas or the kids or you know, their anecdotes.'”
The reason, presumably, is that DeGeneres was a devout vegan at the time, and nothing about meat was allowed to be said on the program.
The Daily Mail added:
“Okay. All right. Okay. All right,” Carolla recalled the staffer saying, after making one appearance on DeGeneres’s show in March 2012 and another on an undisclosed date that Daily Mail has not been able to confirm.
Another story
Carolla also recounted his other appearance on her former show.
The Daily Mail noted:
‘Later on, I talked to someone who signed an NDA, so I won’t say his name, but he wrote for Ellen,’ Carolla explained. ‘I just went, “How’s Ellen?”
‘And uh, he said, “Worst person, uh, worst person. ‘”Not worst person I’ve worked for. Worst person I’ve ever met,”‘ the comic recalled.
Ellen was accused of creating a toxic work environment by 10 of her former employees in 2020.
The accusations eventually resulted in an apology.
