George Simion, leader of Romania’s nationalist AUR (Alliance for the Union of Romanians) party, has issued a blunt call to action: Romanians must rise up and reclaim their nation from foreign control and domestic betrayal.
His message comes as Romania faces mounting pressure from the European Union and the ruling political class, who Simion says have trampled the country’s sovereignty, sold out its people, and suffocated democratic choice.
“For too long, we’ve waited. That time is over,” Simion declared. “A storm is coming. And when it breaks, I’ll be there — with the people.”
The EU’s latest move blocking the presidential candidacy of Dr. Călin Georgescu, a widely respected patriot and former UN official has only confirmed what many Romanians have long suspected: Brussels and its allies will not allow free elections that threaten their grip on power.
Georgescu was pushed out of the race through procedural manipulation and smear tactics. His real offense? Defending Romanian identity, national independence, and rejecting globalist control.
Despite being sidelined, Georgescu endorsed Simion as the new leader of Romania’s anti-communist, anti-globalist movement. Simion, in turn, pledged to give Georgescu a place in a future AUR government — if the Romanian people are ever allowed to choose their leaders again through fair elections.
But Simion made clear: elections won’t save Romania on their own.
“We don’t have real choice anymore,” he said. “We must take back power with determination, with sacrifice. Nothing less.”
This is not just political rhetoric. Across Romania, frustration is boiling over. Entire communities feel betrayed by a political elite that answers to Brussels, not Bucharest. The EU’s contempt for national culture and Christian values is no longer subtle, it’s aggressive and deliberate.
Simion called out Romania’s ruling parties — PSD, PNL, USR, and UDMR — as instruments of this betrayal. “They are working to divide the patriotic movement and keep us weak. We will not let that happen. The sovereignist movement will not break.”
He also invoked a Romanian proverb to describe the moment: “When the mămăligă explodes,” he warned — referencing the boiling cornmeal dish long associated with public frustration — “and more than 200,000 people are in the streets, I will be there.”
Simion urged Romanians to move beyond protest and begin organizing permanent grassroots structures across villages, towns, cities — even abroad.
“Build local action groups. Build alliances. They want to break us into a hundred powerless parties. What they fear is one unified Romanian movement strong enough to take back control.”
Romania on the Front Line
Simion’s warning is not just for Romanians — it’s a message to every citizen across the Western world watching their countries fall under the control of unelected bureaucrats and corporate ideologues.
The same playbook is being used in Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, the United States: criminalize dissent, censor opposition, and rig the system to protect globalist regimes dressed up as democracies.
RAIR Foundation USA has been tracking the EU’s assault on Romania’s political process and its targeting of nationalist leaders like Călin Georgescu. We will continue to expose these efforts and stand with those fighting for sovereignty and self-determination.
As George Simion put it:“We remain on the barricades. Be with us — until the end.”
