President Donald Trump never hid his agenda when it came to deporting illegals.
Democrats and liberal activists were ready for him, challenging virtually every order and move made by the administration.
Shockingly, even with all the resistance via the courts, Trump has managed to have relatively solid success in keeping his deportation machine rolling.
Moving right along
When Trump was running for a second term in office, he and his surrogates boasted about their plans to deport the 10 million or so illegals that came into this country during the Biden administration.
As I had reported at the time, they were very lofty goals, and I never expected them to come anywhere close to that figure.
The expectations were dropped rather significantly when it became clear the courts would uphold due process for illegal immigrants, as our Constitution guarantees.
Some people mistakenly think the Constitution was only written for Americans, but it was actually written for the entire country.
In areas where the Constitution applies only to citizens, it is very clear about the fact, with the point being that due process applies to everyone in this country, even those who broke the law to get in.
Expectations and goals have since been lowered, but the Trump administration still has a rather notable objective of deporting at least one million people per year.
I still think the administration is being very aggressive here, but if the cards fall right, at least that number is more realistic.
For those of you who are loyal readers, you may remember that I stated that was specifically why we needed to make sure we were successful here, so we could win again in 2028.
I have always looked at this specific task as being an eight-to-12-year task.
One of the key aspects of Trump’s success moving forward will be his ability to conduct third-country removals.
To that point, border czar Tom Homan stated, “When you’ve got countries that won’t take their nationals back, and they can’t stay here, we find another country willing to accept them.”
Trump has since worked deals with countries such as El Salvador, which will jail criminal illegals in facilities there for pennies on the dollar of what it would cost to hold these individuals in our country.
Again, while illegal migrants are all entitled to due process, Trump’s ability to remove them has been improved, so I would be spending a lot of assets on ramping up more immigration courts to move this process along as much as possible, just in case we don’t take the White House again in 2028.
