CIA Chief says Obama admin indictments could come soon

The conflict between President Donald Trump and his first predecessor seems to be heating up, not calming down. 

Former President Obama made headlines due to the recent report by the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, and how his administration handled the 2016 election.

Gabbard released declassified documents that she said outlined serious misconduct that, according to some, amounts to a violation of the duties of office, and possibly even treason.

According to Gabbard, the report showed that “President Obama and his national security cabinet members manufactured and politicized intelligence to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President Trump.”

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Ratcliffe said during a recent interview that the ongoing investigation into “Russiagate” might still yield some high-profile indictments for those in the former Obama administration.

While speaking on “Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo,” Ratcliffe referenced Gabbard’s “overwhelming evidence” that Obama and his national security team stepped way out of line during the 2016 presidential election.

“That’s why I’ve made the referrals that I have. DNI Gabbard has made referrals,” Ratcliffe said.

“And why we’re going to continue to share the intelligence that would support the ability of our Department of Justice to … bring fair and just claims against those who have perpetrated this hoax against the American people and this stain on our country,” Ratcliffe said.

What’s the difference

According to the CIA head, there are serious differences between the individuals calling the shots at the Department of Justice and the FBI now than those who have reviewed the information in the past.

“It is a different Department of Justice, a different FBI, and an opportunity to look at how these people really did conspire to run a hoax, a fraud on the American people and against Donald Trump’s presidency,” Ratcliffe told Bartiromo.

“And so coming forward, we understand that they did this, but now we need to understand how they did this.”

Following the accusations presented by Gabbard and her department, a spokesperson for Obama responded, saying he had nothing to worry about.

“Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes,” an Obama spokesperson told news outlets on July 22.

He did not, however, specifically address the serious accusations stemming from the report released by the Trump administration.
