The disclosed documents give us some new information on what has been known for the last ten years.

Congressional committees, special prosecutors, and inspectors general had all already put out reports that mostly supported the main points of the wrongdoing that started in 2015–16.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign, with help from the FBI, CIA, and Director of National Intelligence, tried to spread the false story that Trump worked directly with Russia to win the 2016 election unfairly.

When that campaign strategy didn’t change the 2016 outcomes, the Obama administration worked even harder during the transition to make the Trump presidency less effective.

Next, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s “all-star” legal team found no proof that Trump and Putin worked together to steal the election. But his probe ruined 22 months of Trump’s first term, which were full of leaks and crazy predictions that Trump would soon be found guilty and sent to jail as a “Russian asset.”

By 2020, the furious intelligence agencies and previous “authorities” were once again lying that Hunter Biden’s laptop, which had incriminating information on it, had “all the earmarks” of Russian intervention.

So, what may be different about Gabbard’s new release?

One strange thing that happened after Donald Trump’s election in 2016 but before he took office was that Obama called a meeting with his outgoing intelligence and investigative heads, including CIA Director John Brennan, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, FBI Director James Comey, National Security Advisor Susan Rice, and a few others.

The top directors told Obama that their expert colleagues had not identified any evidence of Trump-Putin collaboration, even though the Democratic Party had been saying for four years that “18 intelligence agencies” had long asserted Russian complicity.

But it is said that outgoing President Obama told them to ignore that kind of assessment. Instead, they started telling stories that President-elect Trump had been working with the Russians.

There were leaks after that. The media went crazy. And shortly, Mueller and his left-wing “dream team” of lawyers went after President Trump.

More fresh information may show that Brennan’s CIA and the people he briefed in the Oval Office knew for a while that the Russians were confused about why they were being falsely accused of working with Trump to rig the election.

Like their Chinese colleagues, Russian spies often try to cause trouble in American organizations by hacking emails or distributing false material online. But they might still have been interested in why Hillary Clinton was making false claims that they were working directly with Trump and why the Obama administration was acting on them.

Obama has now said that these fresh claims are ridiculous and not fit for the office.

But he didn’t completely disagree with the new information. He should have made it clear that he had never told his intelligence chiefs in December 2016 to reject what their coworkers said and instead believe that Trump was working with Putin.

The Clinton campaign, Obama appointees, and former intelligence chiefs and their media colleagues worked hard to hurt the Trump campaign from 2015 until 2020.

They set up the 2017 presidential transition.

They made it hard for Trump to be president.

And they might have hampered Trump’s chances of winning the 2020 election.

In short, here is the harm done by the lies about Trump and Putin working together:

1. They gave “experts” the courage to mislead to the American people again in 2020, this time saying that the Hunter Biden laptop was just another false product of Russian involvement to assist Trump get reelected.

2. The media were just as bad. Journalists worked with current and former Obama appointees by spreading phony materials like the Steele dossier and cooperating with big companies like Twitter and Facebook. The FBI and social media tried to conceal true news headlines throughout the 2020 campaign that the laptop was real and had already been confirmed as such by the FBI.

3. These actions could have had big effects on U.S. foreign policy. Russia is a dictator and an enemy of the U.S.

But Obama-era officials and Clinton-campaign activists hurt President Trump’s credibility by mistakenly and unnecessarily saying that Russia had directly interfered in two elections to work with him. This made it harder for him to engage with a nuclear Russia.

The FBI and CIA’s lies and illegal actions also made the paranoid Russians even more sure that they couldn’t trust the U.S. government, as it was involved in conspiracy lies that were more like their own than America’s.

Obama, Brennan, Clapper, Comey, and others probably won’t ever have to pay for the harm they’ve done to our institutions and foreign policy.

That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be part of a continuous, unbiased endeavor to find and finally reveal the complete truth.
