President Donald Trump just appeared to open up the door for a possible pardon of Ghislaine Maxwell, the well-known accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein.
The president did so, according to the Daily Mail, when speaking to reporters on Friday.
Take a look and listen:
President Trump says he’s allowed to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell.
The only reason he’d do that is if she exposed the Epstein clients.

 “I’m allowed to…”
When speaking to reporters on Friday, President Trump was asked whether or not he has considered the possibility of granting a pardon for Maxwell.
“It’s something I haven’t thought about. I’m allowed to do it, but it’s something I have not thought about.” USA Today reports Trump as saying.
This is one of the latest updates in the Jeffrey Epstein saga. The Trump administration is still facing a backlash for its handling of the infamous Epstein files, claiming that there is no Epstein list. Trump has been trying to appease his critics with various moves, such as ordering the release of grand jury testimony from the Epstein case.
Some have suggested the possibility of Trump pardoning Maxwell in exchange for information about Epstein and his associates’ criminal activity.
It unclear what kind of support there is for such a pardon. Trump, here, might be using his noncommittal comment to test the waters.
Maxwell is granted immunity
While there is still uncertainty about whether or not Trump will pardon Maxwell, the U.S. Department of Justice has granted Maxwell partial immunity.
The Hill reports that the department did so with regard to a recent meeting that it had with Maxwell. It is said that Maxwell spilled the beans on some “100 different people” tied to Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.
For those less familiar with Maxwell, The Hill explains, “Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking and other charges.”
One curious fact that has really caught the attention of many is that Maxwell is the only one who has been put behind bars for her involvement with Epstein. This has struck many has hard to believe given just how extensive Epstein’s criminal network is said to be.
Many argue that this fact lends further credence to the idea that the government is covering up Epstein’s criminal enterprise in order to protect powerful people. Others, however, claim that this is just a conspiracy theory.
