Michigan native and Hollywood actor Jeff Daniels appeared on “The Best People with Nicolle Wallace” this week making sure to skewer President Donald Trump and the people who voted for him.
While it’s no surprise that someone with a decades-old career in Hollywood despises Trump, Daniels did appear tone-deaf when he expressed what he truly thought of Michiganders who voted for the president. “I hope you’re losing money those of you who thought this would be okay,” he said.
Meanwhile, the stock market has hit record highs in recent months. On Friday, CNBC reported the S&P 500 rose and closed out a winning week. The outlet reported it followed solid earnings results after recent trade deals brokered by Trump. In addition, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 58 points.
“I’m just an actor. What do I know?”
Daniels, who did talk on the podcast about his cinema career, could not stay away from being Trump-triggered, especially when it came to the prices of groceries and the impact of tariffs.
“Who do I blame about that? One person,” Daniels said, referring to Trump.
