Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard revealed shocking allegations against Obama-era officials, claiming that they planned a “years-long coup” against President Donald Trump after he won the 2016 presidential election.
During an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters, Gabbard said “deep state obstacles” made it difficult to release information about the Trump-Russia collusion hoax.
The National Intelligence director said that some within the intelligence community never wanted such information to “see the light of day.”
“There are a lot of deep state actors still here within Washington. President Trump wants us to find the truth. I want to find that truth,” she said.
“The American people deserve the truth, and they deserve accountability, which is I’m really glad to see that Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice announced the creation of a strike force team today,” she added.
“Specifically, to get after all the intelligence and evidence that we have gathered. We have more coming and to determine the path forward to bring about that accountability,” Gabbard continued.
In a viral X thread posted on July 18, Gabbard explained how the Obama administration tried to subvert “the will of the American people.”
She pointed out that in 2016, Russia did not possess adequate capabilities to hack the U.S. election, according to the intelligence community at the time.
The intel community, however, appeared to change gears after Trump won the election.
“For months preceding the 2016 election, the Intelligence Community shared a consensus view: Russia lacked the intent and capability to hack U.S. elections. But weeks after President Trump’s historic 2016 victory defeating Hillary Clinton, everything changed,” Gabbard wrote.
“On Dec 8, 2016, IC officials prepared an assessment for the President’s Daily Brief, finding that Russia ‘did not impact recent U.S. election results’ by conducting cyber attacks on infrastructure. Before it could reach the President, it was abruptly pulled ‘based on new guidance.’ This key intelligence assessment was never published,” she added.
A spokesperson for former President Barack Obama called Gabbard’s claims “bizarre” and “outrageous.”
“Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes. These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio,” the spokesperson said.
In 2020, then-Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R) published a press release by the Senate Intelligence Committee that found no evidence that Trump colluded with Russia in the 2016 election.
The committee’s investigation also concluded that Russia did not “hack” the election, but it did state that the Kremlin meddled in the election.
“What the Committee did find however is very troubling. We found irrefutable evidence of Russian meddling,” Rubio said in 2020.
“The Committee found that the Russian government engaged in an aggressive, multi-faceted effort to influence, or attempt to influence, the outcome of the 2016 presidential election,” he added.
“WikiLeaks actively sought, and played, a key role in the Russian influence campaign and very likely knew it was assisting a Russian intelligence influence effort,” he went on.
