Governor Newsom and the Mockery of Informed Consent

About a week or two ago, Governor Gavin Newsom headed out of California politics and did a podcast about how he sees the future of the USA.  He didn’t take his California politics with him, but rather “got down” with kind of a cool, awkward persona using charm and some bleeped out 4 letter words. 

He was asked some tough questions about his recent policies in California, and he acknowledged quite a bit of culpability regarding some of his failures of governing saying he wouldn’t do things the way he did them again.

It was as if he was confessing guilt and promising that as president he would change his ways. But his glossy demeanor and pomposity gave away his complete lack of remorse for the mistakes he made. 

Following are two examples of how Newsom demonstrated dangerous and evil authoritarian control of the medical profession and physicians that really hurt the citizens of California physically, emotionally, and economically.  It pertains to the responsibility of a treating physician to obtain a thorough (detailed) and comprehensive (all-inclusive) consent to commit or omit therapy upon a patient such that the patient is equipped via being informed, in clear simple English, what the rationale, the risks, and the alternatives of the proposed therapy entails.

This gives the patient confidence and a huge part to play when it concerns his or her (or their child’s) body, and what to allow the doctor to do.  It’s a pact of trust and confidence in the physician, and it is powerful and important.  I think of informed consent as “healing salve for the soul.”

The first instance of Newsom’s “confession tour” podcast demonstrates his absurd misrepresentation of informed consent as relates to sex change therapy (pharmaceutical and surgical) for minors.  Sex change doctors who treat pediatric patients are cruel in their assertions regarding the natural history of untreated “gender dysphoria.” They say that without this treatment, these children will live a regretful life by not embracing their feelings, to the point that they will commit suicide. It is outright shocking that when they discuss this nonsense with the parents of these poor kids (when they do it), the parents go along with it!  In the real world, that might warrant an evaluation by CPS for child abuse. 

Newsom’s response to the questioner first demonstrated his humanitarian sensitivity for LGBTQ  concerns but then he stated that he wouldn’t allow these types of procedures on his 9-year-old child. Thus, Newsom blatantly changed his stance regarding informed consent on a minor when it comes to his minor! In my professional opinion, he has overtaken the skill and judgment of ethical physicians and surgeons and has caused much harm to those children who had sex change treatment in California hospitals, all under his watch.  I don’t think Newsom has remorse for what he did, but rather he demonstrates unapologetic insincerity. I think that if he were to become the president of the USA in the future, he would  start the entire process again.

The second instance of authoritarian misuse of his stolen responsibility (informed consent) relates to the Covid hoax. He quickly answered the tough question about shutdowns and shuttering of businesses. His answer was something to the effect ….”Yeah, that was a mistake to prohibit Californians from going to work and earning a living or going to the beaches.” In this instance, physicians weren’t part of the RADICAL decisions about mask wearing, vaccinating, drug repurposing, social distancing, going to church, herd immunity, and on and on. And neither were the patients! It was Newsom and his infamous public health regime that acted out without informed consent.

Doctors in California are burned out fools and cowards and follow the orders of tyrannical dictators like Newsom and Obama. They fear Newsom and his hand-picked Medical Board of California and the pathetic, woke medical and surgical elite communist educators in every institution of higher education (universities and colleges) in the progressive and presently tarnished “golden state.” They all maneuver in lockstep with the tyrants.

Had the doctors grown a spine and refused Newsom and acted out their responsibility of obtaining a thorough and comprehensive informed consent, we NEVER would have had a covid problem in the first place.We never would have had a complete shutdown of our economy in 2020.

Just think of that.

Assembly Bill 2098, which threatened physicians for “the dissemination of misinformation or disinformation related to COVID-19 by physicians and surgeons constitutes unprofessional conduct,” was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom on September 30, 2022. That bill was blocked by a federal judge in January 2023 because it was “too vague.”  Newsom’s responses to these serious questions about his gross negligence regarding informed consent show no remorse whatsoever for the pain, suffering, criminal battery, abuse (physical and emotional), and even death due to delay in diagnosis and hopelessness of the human spirit he inflicted. Maybe you were a victim of this nonsense. All achieved by muzzling your partner, the doctor. What do you think will happen if Newsom gets power back and we face the next manufactured pandemic hoax?

Muzzling a physician and taking away his or her right of freedom of speech and the right and RESPONSIBILITY of interfacing with a patient and giving (teaching) a thorough and comprehensive definition of the rational, risk and alternatives of a proposed treatment plan is a horrible violation of the first amendment of the US Constitution.  

If doctors carried out their responsibility to patients during the covid crisis (hoax), a covid crisis would never have occurred. Said another way, only a fool would comply with Newsom’s agenda. It never would have made “the news.”

So, in review, Newsom made a mockery of informed consent in California, and he demonstrates no remorse as he peddles himself to be president. Please keep this in mind as we approach the selection of our next president, our next California governor, and our next batch of California legislators at the state capitol, in our 58 California counties, and our cities. It would be “healing salve for the souls” of California doctors and patients to “break free” and make the very important life and death decisions and not continue to simply follow orders in a non-informed way.
