President Donald Trump was reportedly informed months ago by Attorney General Pam Bondi that his name appeared several times in the Epstein files.
It was the day that Bondi told the president that she recommended not to release the files completely.
The attorney general is said to have told Trump in May that his name was found on the highly sought-after Epstein files, alongside other high-profile individuals.
Senior administration officials claimed that the files contain “unverified hearsay” about Trump and other individuals who had connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
As the Daily Mail pointed out, Bondi spoke out against releasing all of the files at the time, citing concerns over child pornography and victims’ personal information.
Even if the president’s name is in the files, it does not implicate him in any wrongdoing.
The report, which came from the Wall Street Journal, was met with criticism.
White House communications director Steven Cheung issued a scathing rebuke of the outlet’s report, labeling it “fake news.”
“The fact is that the President kicked him out of his club for being a creep. This is nothing more than a continuation of the fake news stories concocted by the Democrats and the liberal media, just like the Obama Russiagate scandal, which President Trump was right about,” Cheung said.
Bondi has faced immense criticism from the “MAGA” base for constantly delaying the release of the Epstein files.
In a Fox News interview in February, the attorney general said she had the “client list” on her desk awaiting review.
She eventually released the so-called “Phase 1” of the Epstein report, which did not include any out-of-this-world information.
After facing backlash, Bondi said that the reason she hadn’t released the files in their entirety was that they contained child pornography, per the Daily Mail.
“They turned out to be child porn downloaded by that disgusting Jeffrey Epstein,” she said. “Never going to be released, never going to see the light of day.”
This new report comes months after X CEO and tech mogul Elon Musk stated that the reason the Trump admin is stonewalling the release of the Epstein files is because the president’s name is in them.
“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public,” Musk said in June in a now-deleted X post.
On X, multiple conservative users pointed out that just because Trump was named in the files does not mean he was connected to Epstein’s horrifying crimes.
“It has been long established that Trump kicked Epstein out of his Mar-a-lago club when Epstein was acting inappropriately. The membership was revoked. Just being mentioned in the Epstein files is very different than visiting his island. We want the names of the island clients,” Wall Street Mav wrote.
