Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released newly declassified evidence Wednesday morning that she says proves the Obama administration directed the intelligence community to manufacture a narrative about Russian interference in the 2016 election to undermine Donald Trump.
Calling it “the most egregious weaponization and politicization of intelligence in American history,” Gabbard pointed to a 2020 House Intelligence Committee report that, in her view, debunks the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA). That assessment concluded that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to help Trump defeat Hillary Clinton — a finding Gabbard now claims was deliberately falsified.

According to the newly released report, former President Barack Obama personally ordered then-CIA Director John Brennan to compile and publish raw human intelligence after the election. The Appendix timeline of the document notes: “Acting on President Obama’s orders, [Brennan] directed a ‘full review’ and publication of raw HUMINT (Human Intelligence) information that had been collected before the election.”
The report states that some of the material Brennan ordered to be included had previously been judged by veteran CIA officers as failing publication standards, coming from unknown or unclear sources, and containing “significant flaws.” Despite objections, the information was published “to support claims that aspired to help Trump win,” effectively bolstering the narrative that Putin favored Trump.

Finding #3 of the House report confirms that CIA officers resisted publishing this intelligence, describing much of it as “unremarkable” or containing “flawed information.” Nevertheless, these disputed points became “foundational sources” for the Russia narrative.
Gabbard said the documents confirm what “many Americans have known”: that the Obama administration “conspired to subvert the will of the American people” and staged a “years-long coup” against Trump with the help of a compliant media.
I don’t think people realize just how much danger Tulsi Gabbard is putting herself in by exposing the deep state at this level.

Former President Obama had previously dismissed Gabbard’s allegations as “bizarre” and “a weak attempt at distraction.” But the latest release appears to directly challenge his defense.
President Trump called the revelations proof of treason. “If you look at that, those papers, they have him stone cold. And it was President Obama,” Trump told reporters. “Look, he’s guilty. It’s not a question … this was treason.”
The disclosures are likely to intensify scrutiny of the Obama-era intelligence apparatus and deepen the political battle over the origins of the Russia investigation.
