White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller rebuked Democrats on Monday after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries lectured President Donald Trump’s administration on how to conduct immigration enforcement.
Jeffries said at a Monday presser that Trump’s administration should prioritize “deporting violent felons,” accusing the administration of instead “showing up at little league baseball games, churches, schools and hospitals.” Miller expressed outrage on “The Ingraham Angle” that Democrats would have the nerve to scold the Trump administration on this issue after letting dangerous criminal illegal migrants into the United States.

“Can you imagine getting a lecture on public safety from the party that has let child rapists and murderers into this country en masse!?” Miller said. “Do you have any idea how many little girls have been maimed and raped and killed by the illegal aliens that they let into our country — that they gleefully allowed into our nation!?”
“And they want to lecture us on public safety!? They have destroyed the lives of countless thousands of Americans!” he continued. “And today, Democrats run sanctuary cities that protect and shield illegal aliens who have committed the most heinous crimes from deportation.”
Miller noted the case of an off-duty Border Patrol agent, who was ambushed and shot on Saturday in New York City in an apparent robbery attempt by two illegal migrants.
“His assailant was arrested and released, arrested and released, arrested and released — because Democrat policies shield these monsters from deportation by purpose and by design! Their policies are evil! They are intentional,” Miller said. “They are malicious. They hate this country and they want our people to suffer. And they have turned migration into a weapon.”
“And when ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and Border Patrol go out and conduct these raids, what do they find? Trafficked and enslaved children,” he added. “They find offenders with rap sheets that go from here to the other side of the country — state after state, a trail of blood and suffering. And ICE and Border Patrol are getting these monsters out of our country, getting these predators out of our communities. Under President Trump’s leadership, murder rates are finally falling because these people are being sent home.”
Border czar Tom Homan also criticized sanctuary cities during a Monday press conference in New York City on the shooting. “Sanctuary cities are sanctuaries for criminals. President Trump is not going to tolerate it,” Homan said. “And I’ll work every day with [Homeland Security] Secretary [Kristi] Noem to make sure we get as many bad guys — illegal aliens — out of this country that we can.”
Border Patrol agents released a total of zero illegal migrants into the U.S. in May. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) confirmed on July 15 that this trend continued in June, marking a stark contrast to former President Joe Biden’s administration.
Border Patrol agents released 62,000 migrants along the U.S.-Mexico border in May 2024 and another 27,766 in June 2024 under Biden, according to CBP.
