NewNation host Chris Cuomo on Monday accused Democrats of weaponizing documents on deceased pedophile and financier Jeffrey Epstein purely to damage President Donald Trump rather than seek justice for victims.
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries admitted on Monday that Democrats’ new effort to secure additional documents related to Epstein is not based on them viewing the issue as important. Cuomo said on “CUOMO” that Trump supporters pushing for more documents are concerned about accountability for Epstein’s associates who may have victimized underage girls, while Democrats are only interested in political gain.

“I don’t know what’s lower percentage: Playing with extreme policies or extreme politics, like going all in suddenly on Epstein as the Democrats are,” Cuomo said. “If they cared, why didn’t they ever do anything about it during the Biden administration?”
“As hollow as I find the intrigue surrounding a mythical client list, or these magical notions that Epstein was murdered, at least the MAGA folk are asking for transparency in the name of discovering if more people need to be held responsible for trafficking and sexually abusing children,” he continued. “Democrats aren’t asking for that. They’re clearly only interested in causing Trump agita.”
Jeffries has been waging a weeks-long campaign against the Trump administration to publish the full collection of materials about Epstein. He acknowledged on Monday that Democrats did not demand transparency when former President Joe Biden was in the White House.
“The far right, Donald Trump, right-wing conspiracy theorists and others are the ones who have put this Jeffrey Epstein thing in the public domain,” Jeffries said in response to a question asked by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“No one looking at the facts disputes that this isn’t anything that any of us as House Democrats have been focused on ever — in terms of trying to fan the flames of what may or may not happen,” he added. “Once it has broken into the public domain, and there’s a clear desire on behalf of the American people to get more information, then the right thing to do is to present the facts and the evidence to the American people.”
Democrats conducted no oversight of the Biden administration’s handling of documents related to Epstein during his administration.
However, backlash from Democrats and Trump supporters began after Axios reported on July 6 that a two-page memo showed the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI found that the deceased pedophile had left no “client list” and that there was no foul play in his suicide. Trump eventually instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi on Truth Social Thursday to release all relevant grand jury testimony on Epstein.
