The first moon landing, part of NASA’s Apollo 11 mission, occurred on July 20, 1969, when astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed the Lunar Module “Eagle” on the moon. Neil Armstrong became the first person to walk on the moon approximately six and a half hours later, on July 21, 1969, at 02:56 UTC.Â
