Early Saturday morning, reports blew up after a car plowed into a large group of patrons, mostly women, standing outside a Los Angeles nightclub.
Of course, many suspected a possible terror attack when the story first broke.
Now, however, the circumstances have been clouded by the facts underlying the incident.
What happened?
According to local police, a gray compact car veered out of control after the driver reportedly lost consciousness behind the wheel.
The car initially crashed into a food truck, then careened into a crowd of mostly women who were waiting to enter a nightclub, the Vermont Hollywood.
LAFD Capt. Adam Van Gerpen stated, “They were all standing in line going into a nightclub.”
He continued, “There was a taco cart out there, so they were… getting some food, waiting to go in. And there’s also a valet line there… a large number of people were impacted by the vehicle.”
In all, roughly 30 people were hit, with nearly two dozen of them transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police also reported that someone in the car had suffered a gunshot wound, but they did not reveal whether it was the driver.
Local news channels reported that witnesses allegedly heard gunfire just before the crash, but local police have not yet confirmed that was the case, although it seems likely considering the fact that someone inside that car had been shot.
Local authorities have announced that the incident remains under investigation.
While this is clearly a tragedy, there is some solace to be taken that it was, in fact, not a terrorist incident.
We have all been sitting on the edge of our seats since the military strike against Iran, with speculation being that Tehran may try to activate terror cells within the United States to exact revenge.
Based on historical immigration numbers, it is quite reasonable to believe that we could have as many as 2,000 possible terrorists in this country right now after the last four years of Biden’s open-border policy.
Generally speaking, we see about 100 terrorists or those affiliated with terrorist groups slip through the cracks for every 1,000,000 illegals who enter this country.
Over the last four years, conservative estimates range between 8 and 15 million unlawful arrivals, so you are looking at somewhere between 800 and 1,500 possible terrorists, and that does not include the radicals who were here before Biden took office.
I am not saying this to fearmonger people, but we clearly need to be vigilant considering the current status of relations between the United States and Iran.
