The father of a Canadian girl who turned up dead in Ticonderoga after an Amber Alert Sunday has been arrested.
Luciano Frattolin is being held at the Essex County Jail, according to inmate records available online.
His daughter, Melina Galanis Frattolin, was reported missing Saturday while the family was in the Lake George area. Law enforcement first reported she was last seen around 7:40 p.m. in a white van on I-87 southbound near exit 22. Further reports changed that time to 9:40 p.m.
Police also said she was believed to be in imminent danger; after her body was discovered, investigators said there was no indication that she was abducted and there were inconsistencies in her father’s account of events.
