The Biden administration has been quietly pushing a dangerous financial surveillance program.
Most Americans have no idea what’s happening behind closed doors in Washington, D.C.
But Byron Donalds dropped this brutal fact that left the elite’s digital money scheme in ruins.
Byron Donalds sounds the alarm on Central Bank Digital Currency
U.S. Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) appeared on Fox Business to expose one of the most chilling threats to American financial freedom that the federal government is quietly implementing.
The Florida conservative delivered a devastating critique of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) that should have every freedom-loving American paying attention.
And what Donalds revealed about the government’s surveillance capabilities should terrify anyone who values their privacy.
Donalds said CBDCs would give the Federal Reserve “an ability to examine and monitor all stablecoin transactions in the United States, and that’s what members do not want to happen.”¹
The timing of his warning wasn’t coincidental.
The House was considering the GENIUS Act, which Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) warned “lays the groundwork for a layered Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) where Americans interact with stablecoins, but behind the scenes there are the functional surveillance capabilities of a CBDC.”²
Think about what that means for a moment.
Every purchase you make, every transaction you complete, every dollar you spend would be tracked, monitored, and recorded by federal bureaucrats.
This isn’t some dystopian novel – this is the reality that Biden’s financial surveillance state wants to implement right here in America.
The Federal Reserve defines a CBDC as “a digital form of central bank money that is widely available to the general public” where “central bank money” means “money that is a liability of the central bank.”³
But that sterile bureaucratic language hides the true horror of what they’re proposing.
Florida Republicans lead the fight against financial surveillance
Donalds made it crystal clear where House Republicans stand on this assault on financial freedom.
“I’m OPPOSED and the Republican Conference is opposed,” Donalds declared.⁴
But he’s not fighting this battle alone.
Representative Mike Haridopolos (R-FL) promised that the bills they worked on in the House will “STOP central bank digital currency dead in its tracks.”⁵
“We’re not going to let the federal government track your spending or block you from using your own money,” Haridopolos stated.⁶
Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) took to X to expose how the legislation would’ve “allowed a backdoor to create a central back digital currency.”⁷
“I support crypto, but I do not support CBDC’s. I was part of a group that was able to block it. Again, I am pro-crypto, but cannot allow for any backdoor or loose language that would allow for a CBDC,” Luna wrote.⁸

The Florida delegation understands something that Washington establishment types either don’t grasp or deliberately ignore.
Once the government has the power to monitor every financial transaction, the next step is controlling those transactions.
Don’t like your political views? Your digital wallet gets frozen.
Donated to the wrong candidate? Your transactions get flagged.
Bought something the government disapproves of? Your account gets restricted.
This isn’t paranoid speculation – it’s exactly what happened to Canadian truckers when Justin Trudeau’s government froze their bank accounts during the Freedom Convoy protests.
DeSantis beat Washington, D.C. to the punch
Here’s what actual leadership looks like – while Washington bureaucrats were plotting their surveillance scheme, Ron DeSantis was already three steps ahead.
The Florida governor signed anti-CBDC legislation in 2023, effectively telling the federal government to keep their digital spying operation out of his state.⁹
DeSantis saw this coming before most Americans even knew what a CBDC was.
Following Florida’s lead
This isn’t some boring technical discussion about payment systems.
It’s about whether or not you trust the government.
The Biden crowd wants to dress this up as “financial innovation” and “keeping America competitive.”
Complete nonsense.
What they want is the ability to know when you buy gas, where you shop for groceries, and whether you donated to candidates they don’t like.
Your morning coffee purchase? They’ll know about it.
That cash tip you left your waitress? They’ll track it.
Where your access to your own money depends on your compliance with whatever social credit system they decide to implement.
That’s the future that CBDCs make possible – and that’s exactly why patriots like Byron Donalds are fighting so hard to stop them.
The Chinese Communist Party already uses digital currency to monitor and control its population.
Citizens who criticize the government find their digital wallets restricted.
People who travel to the wrong places or associate with the wrong people discover they can’t access their money.
Is that really the system we want to import to America?
Donalds and his fellow Florida Republicans are saying “absolutely not” – and every American who values their freedom should be thanking them for their courage.
The battle over CBDCs is just beginning, but at least we know there are still members of Congress willing to stand up for our constitutional rights and financial privacy.
Byron Donalds just delivered a masterclass in how to expose government overreach and fight for American liberty.
