
A New Jersey resident urged her local school board on Wednesday to rescind a policy allowing staff to support a student’s gender identity without informing their parents.
The Sayreville, NJ Board of Education voted earlier this year to continue enforcing Policy 5756. Jennifer Woodruff told the board on Wednesday that the policy must be abolished in order to send a message to the government to “stop interfering with our children’s upbringing.”
“It is deceptive to parents, and it puts teachers in an uncomfortable position and often against their moral beliefs,” Woodruff said.
“The government seems to think that they know what is best for our children and the parents are clueless or they are the problem,” she added.
