In a stunning move that’s got Washington buzzing, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) is demanding answers about former President Joe Biden’s health straight from the top, calling for subpoenas of key figures like former First Lady Jill Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Breitbart reported that Donalds, a rising star in the GOP and a candidate for governor in Florida, has pushed for members of the Biden administration to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee after a jaw-dropping deposition raised serious questions about transparency.
This all kicked off when Anthony Bernal, Chief of Staff to Jill Biden, clammed up during his testimony on Wednesday, invoking the Fifth Amendment when pressed on critical matters.
According to Committee Chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY), Bernal refused to answer whether unelected officials or family members ever stepped in to handle presidential duties or if Biden himself directed him to conceal health issues.
“Mr. Bernal pleaded the Fifth when asked if any unelected official or family members executed the duties of the President,” Comer stated, labeling this a “historic scandal” that begs for clarity. If that’s not a red flag waving in the face of accountability, what is?
Donalds didn’t mince words either, calling Bernal’s silence “corruption at the highest level.” When someone in such a trusted position ducks basic questions, it’s hard not to wonder what’s being hidden from the American public.
Donalds Demands Full Administration Accountability
Taking it a step further, Donalds insisted that every single member of the Biden administration, no matter their role, should face the Committee’s scrutiny. From secretaries to support staff, he wants everyone on the record.
“I don’t care if they were a janitor working in there. They all gotta come in and answer questions,” Donalds declared. That’s a bold stance, but when trust in government is on the line, half-measures just won’t cut it.
Specifically, Donalds zeroed in on Kamala Harris, suggesting she likely had a hand in obscuring Biden’s condition during her time as vice president. If true, that’s a serious breach of the public’s right to know.
“I think Kamala Harris needs to come in and tell us what she knew and when she knew it,” Donalds pressed. Given her prominent role, it’s a fair question—shouldn’t someone who aspired to lead the nation be upfront about such a critical issue?
Donalds also pointed the finger at Jill Biden, arguing that as the former president’s spouse, she must have insight into his capabilities. “Former First Lady? She’s gotta come in here and answer questions,” he insisted, respectfully acknowledging family loyalty but stressing the need for truth.
Indeed, when Bernal, described by Donalds as Jill Biden’s “right-hand man,” opts for silence, it only fuels suspicion. If even close aides can’t speak to the former president’s state, the public deserves to hear from those nearest to him.
Questioning the Legitimacy of Biden’s Actions
Perhaps most explosively, Donalds questioned the very legitimacy of Biden’s administration, arguing that if the former president lacked the capacity to govern, every action taken under his name could be invalid.
“As far as I’m concerned, [everything] is null and void,” he stated, challenging the legality of signed bills and orders. This isn’t just political theater—it’s a constitutional concern that strikes at the heart of democratic governance.
