In what could only be described as peak political genius, Senator Tommy Tuberville (R- AL) has a novel solution to U.S. citizens accidentally getting swept up in ICE raids: “Don’t hang around illegals.”
Seems pretty simple, right?
The left-wing media has been doing their best to find any mistakes done by ICE or their partners while arresting illegal aliens – including Americans getting swept up during arrests and raids.
According to the Daily B.S., when questioned about the potential for a United States citizens to be detained during an ICE raid, Tuberville said, “Well, first of all, don’t put yourself in a situation where that happens. And I’m sure with all the illegals we have in this country, you’re gonna probably have some mistakes happen. That’s gonna happen. But again, as long as we take care of it the right way, understand they are our system, let them go. But again, if you’re gonna be hanging around people that are not citizens of this country, some things like that are gonna probably happen.”
When pressed further, Tuberville said, “Don’t hang around illegals.” He added, “Bottom line, because President Trump has said, we’re gonna go after you. And at the end of the day, if you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time, something bad could happen.”
His point isn’t complicated: if law enforcement is targeting illegal aliens and you’re constantly in that circle, don’t be shocked if you get swept up in the mix. That’s not racism or xenophobia; that’s common sense.
