During the COVID pandemic, there was one Republican who refused to buy into what Dr. Fauci was selling.
That would be Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), who had a notorious feud with Fauci through the end of the Trump administration and the first two years of the Biden administration.
Even though Fauci is no longer working for the government, Paul still plans on holding him accountable for his actions.
Lies, Lies, and More Lies
Fauci is a stone-cold liar… of that I have no doubt.
He lied about his role in shutting down the economy; he lied about his role in gain-of-function research; and he clearly hid information about funding for this research as well as the Wuhan lab itself.
Taking Down Fauci
In his quest to refer Dr. Fauci for charges, Paul wrote, “In response to my questioning at the May 11, 2021 hearing, Dr. Fauci testified that ‘the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.’
“In a subsequent hearing, I warned Dr. Fauci of the criminal implications of lying to Congress and offered him an opportunity to recant his previous statements. In response, Dr. Fauci stated that he had ‘never lied before the Congress’ and d[id] not retract that statement.”
He went on to document that Fauci had been working with the Wuhan lab on gain-of-function research.
Now he is also going after Fauci’s pardon, writing “According to reports, White House staff authorized the use of the autopen to issue the clemency documents.
“This raises serious constitutional and legal concerns about the legitimacy of Dr. Fauci’s pardon.”
Paul continued, “The New York Times reports Fauci was quietly pardoned by an autopen, operated by Biden’s staff. If the President didn’t authorize this pardon personally, then the Department has a duty to investigate and prosecute as it would any ordinary citizen. Fauci has been sainted by the extremist Left, but it doesn’t erase his lying before Congress.”
Not Backing Down
Paul has proven to be persistent over the years, and that is bad news for Fauci.
Democrats and the media made him out to be a hero, but I think we have proven him to be, at the very least, a liar, which is easily proven by his statements before Congress and video of the statements he has made to the media.
I very much look forward to the day when Paul is granted his referral and charges are filed against Fauci.
