The Tennessee Valley Authority announced its plans to scout for a new preferred location after country singer John Rich vowed to team up with President Donald Trump.
Rich has opposed the Cheatham County location for TVA’s proposed 900-megawatt natural gas power plant, threatening to enlist the president to help fight alongside him. The federal utility has also received complaints from the locals who are concerned about the possible impacts on things such as pollution, noise, property rights and overall safety.
While both TVA and the White House have not commented on Rich’s statements, the country singer claims that Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins “joined forces with me and all the residents of Cheatham County,” appearing to confirm Trump administration involvement.
My message of thanks to @realDonaldTrump and @SecRollins for teaming up with me and the Patriots of Cheatham County, TN to send the @TVAnews packing today. This is just the beginning…Please repost, and stay tuned. -JR pic.twitter.com/rYEzA7a6eV
