Three separate medical emergencies were reported in January 2025 following botched abortion procedures at three different clinics in Chicago. Each incident involved women experiencing serious complications and required emergency medical intervention.
“A Minor Complication”
The first emergency occurred on the morning of January 18 at the Near North Health Center Planned Parenthood facility. A 19-year-old woman reportedly suffered a uterine perforation following an abortion procedure. According to 911 dispatch records, the patient was still sedated at the time of the call.
The clinic worker who contacted emergency services was hesitant to disclose the nature of the emergency. When asked by the dispatcher what happened, the caller referred to “a minor complication” after a procedure. Later, she admitted it was a uterine perforation.

Uterine perforation is a common complication of surgical abortion that can be life-threatening and demand immediate intervention.
“We Can’t Get It Under Control”
A second emergency call was made just nine days later, on January 27, from the Roseland Planned Parenthood Health Center. A woman in her 30s reportedly experienced hemorrhaging after a surgical abortion. The caller stated that staff were unable to get the blood loss “under control.”
A dangerous trend noted by Operation Rescue in a plethora of 911 records is that clinic staff often do not have accurate patient information available during the call. In this case, the caller first estimated the patient’s age as 21, though the patient was later identified as being in her 30s.
She Had “an Injury”
The third incident occurred on January 29 at Family Planning Associates in Chicago. According to 911 reports, a 34-year-old woman began bleeding after undergoing an abortion at the clinic. The details regarding the extent of the blood loss were not disclosed.
The caller stated that the bleeding was “under control” and the patient was “coming out of sedation,” but also acknowledged that she had suffered an “injury.” Given the symptoms, this may well be another case of uterine perforation.
As in the previous cases, emergency medical services responded and transported the patient to a hospital.
The current condition of all three women remains unknown.
Regulatory Context
“Abortions in Illinois have skyrocketed, and countless women are being injured in these unregulated mills, yet the abortion zealots insist on pushing for increasingly lax legislation in the name of ‘abortion rights,’ which is actual murder,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue.
“Illinois law does not require abortion facilities to meet the same licensing standards as ambulatory surgical centers, and the state has no waiting period, parental consent, or mandatory ultrasound laws. This simply shows how the lack of oversight increases the risk of complications and reduces accountability by the abortion cartel,” Newman added.
