Critics of the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files are pointing out a strange gap in the “full raw” prison video.
The video, which is meant to prove that nobody accessed the prison wing on the night of Jeffrey Epstein’s death, appears to be missing nearly three minutes of footage. In a report from WIRED, metadata shows that the video was edited together with Adobe Premiere Pro from two clips.
“Further analysis shows that one of the source clips was approximately 2 minutes and 53 seconds longer than the segment included in the final video, indicating that footage appears to have been trimmed before release. It’s unclear what, if anything, the minutes cut from the first clip showed,” the outlet reported.
“The metadata confirms that the first video file, which showed footage from August 9, 2019, continued for several minutes beyond what appears in the final version of the video and was trimmed to the 11:58:58 pm mark, right before the jump to midnight. The cut to the first clip doesn’t necessarily mean that there is additional time unaccounted for—the second clip picks up at midnight, which suggests the two would overlap—nor does it prove that the missing minute was cut from the video,” the analysis continued.
It was also confirmed by the outlet that the file was “edited and saved” several times over three and a half hours on May 23, 2025, bringing into question the FBI’s claim that the video is the “raw” footage.
At the same time that the Trump administration declared all evidence pointed to Epstein’s death being a suicide, they also announced that there was no incriminating “client list.” Many believed that the billionaire maintained a list of those who had engaged his services to use as blackmail, and recovering this list would give a glimpse into the high-profile names taking advantage of children.
This announcement has divided the MAGA base, with some saying it’s time to move on from Epstein and others wondering if this is part of yet another cover-up.
