Popular podcaster and comedian Andrew Schulz launched a blistering critique of President Donald Trump during his Flagrant podcast on Tuesday, expressing deep frustration over the administration’s failure to release Jeffrey Epstein’s client list.
Schulz and co-host Akaash Singh opened their show by addressing what they characterized as the week’s biggest scandal: Trump’s handling of the Epstein files.
The comedy duo drew detailed parallels between their own experiences facing online criticism from detractors who label them as troublemakers and Trump’s ongoing challenges with his political opponents.
Earlier in the week, Schulz and his podcast crew donned tin-foil hats during their show as they criticized the president’s failure to deliver on key campaign promises.
These included releasing the Epstein list, ending foreign wars and reducing government spending.
The theatrical gesture underscored their frustration with what they perceive as broken commitments from the administration.
The comedian expressed particular disappointment with Trump’s recent military actions against Iran’s nuclear facilities, which marked a significant escalation in Middle Eastern tensions.
The president also signed his signature legislation that economists estimate will add a staggering $3.4 trillion to the national deficit over the coming years.
“I voted for none of this. He is doing the exact opposite of everything I voted for. I want him to stop wars, he’s funding them. I want him to shrink spending, reduce the budget, he’s increasing it,” Schulz said during the podcast.
The comedian had previously hosted Trump on his podcast in October, just weeks before the election, despite facing significant backlash at the time from critics who questioned his decision to platform the candidate.
The interview went viral and was credited with helping humanize the candidate during the campaign, reaching millions of listeners who may not have otherwise heard Trump’s unfiltered thoughts.
Schulz now admits he feels deeply disappointed by Trump’s actions during his second term.
The podcaster stated he had hoped for meaningful change from the administration, particularly on issues that resonated with his audience.
“I wanted something different. I was hoping for some sort of change,” he said, while simultaneously rejecting attempts to recruit him into any political movement or ideological camp.
The comedian made clear his independence from both major political parties in characteristically blunt terms.
“I just want to let you all right now, I’m in neither one of your f**king cults if you want me to be in your cults you can go f**k all, I’m not a Dem cult, I’m not a Republican cult, I’m a free American I’ll make my own f**king decisions, and I’ll say whatever the f**k I want about whatever president is in power,” Schulz said.
During the campaign, Schulz and his podcast crew gained widespread attention for their interview with Trump, which showcased a different side of the candidate.
The candidate detailed his communication style known as “the weave” and explained how he developed memorable nicknames for his political opponents, providing insight into his strategic thinking.
The podcast hosts directly addressed criticism from Democratic supporters who accused them of helping Trump win the election by conducting the interview.
They argued that the interview simply allowed Trump to present himself to their audience without editorial interference.
“You just wanna take no accountability for the fact that you ran a dead guy and a woman that couldn’t speak,” Schulz said, referring to former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Both hosts reminded their audience that they were not surprised when a politician failed to keep campaign promises, noting this was a common pattern in American politics that transcends party lines.
They emphasized their realistic expectations about political figures while expressing disappointment in the specific areas where Trump fell short.
Schulz outlined three specific actions he wanted Trump to take: ending endless wars, stopping excessive government spending, and releasing the Epstein files.
He expressed particular frustration that Trump had only focused on immigration enforcement, which was not a priority for the podcaster or his audience.
