Over the decades I’ve written about so many issues but farmers and ranchers has always been a priority for me. Their lives are hard whether diary, veggies or livestock. That critical sector of America’s existence has changed a lot with farm equipment that now does the job of a half dozen men or women.
“The planter, the farmer, the mechanic, and the laborer… form the great body of the people of the United States, they are the bone and sinew of the country men who love liberty and desire nothing but equal rights and equal laws.” —President Andrew Jackson
America’s greatness was built on our industrial, manufacturing and industrial sectors.[1]: What Made America Great. Then the privately owned unconstitutional “FED” and big money to buy off members of CON-gress began the first stages of destruction. And, as time has passed, too many sons and daughters want nothing to do with farming and ranching. Not when there’s that fancy phone to blabber on or struggle in some college or university for a worthless degree and a ton of debt.
Now, granted, we have to remember there was a time of mandatory draft to serve in some branch of our military. Thousands of farmers and ranchers were pulled off their land and sent off to fight in undeclared wars like the VietNam “era”. It was a time when LEGAL seasonal workers crossed the border and at the end of planting/harvesting time, went back to their home country.
Of course, not every American wants to be a rancher or farmer, understood. But they ARE the ones who feed us and our families. I do know from all my years of activism that a lot of young men do go to local community colleges and training courses to learn how to efficiently farm, run livestock and are the best stewards of our land. I also know our family farmers and ranchers are being grossly and recklessly harassed and sued by cockroaches (DA’s or AG’s) given the “power” to destroy lives and families by bought and paid for state legislatures.
After the bankers crashed the stock market[2], Americans couldn’t find work. Weather destroyed the ability to grow food. The situation was very, very bad for quite some time. To make matters worse, Mexican workers were flooding farms taking jobs so desperately needed by Americans. Jon Christian Ryter wrote a superb history on this back on January 27, 2010[3]. It really is worth the time to read.
Please understand that when I first heard the term “Operation Wetback” many, many decades ago, I thought it very offensive. I was born in Merced, California, 76 years ago; that area up and down the state was and is known as the “food belt”. All of us kids (I’m half Sicilian and half German) were from everywhere and we all played together and didn’t give a hoot what color your skin was. Jon Christian Ryter is a wonderful human being, intelligent, excellent reporter, author of several fine books; fearless and truly kind-hearted. I can’t speak for Jon but his use of the word Wetback was part of history already.
“At the end of World War II, President Harry S. Truman was faced with the same problem that plagued Hoover in 1931—no jobs for US citizens. Under Roosevelt’s Public Law 78 agri-giants, who needed dirt cheap labor were allowed to import labor from Mexico even though 25% of the American labor force was out of work—and in the dust bowl farm states, unemployment stood at over 70%. Under Public Law 78, when work contracts were fulfilled, the employer was responsible, under law, to transport the migrant worker back to Mexico. As thousands of migrant workers simply vanished into the human landscape, taking what few jobs were available from American workers, Truman’s solution was to issue a terse public statement admonishing Congress, and telling the American people that Congress assured him they would fix the problem. (Yeah, we can see how well the buck stopped at his desk.)
“During the prosperity of the war years (1943-54), illegal alien immigration increased by 6,000%, triggering Operation Wetback II and III. In 1954, the INS estimated that illegals—not legal migrant workers—were crossing the US border at the rate of one million per year and that they were penetrating much deeper into the nation that in preceding decades because the INS concentrated their efforts only in the border States. The INS, on orders from the White House, went through the motions of rounding up both illegal aliens and migrant workers who overstayed their visas. Truman deported about 30 thousand Mexicans during his seven years in office.” (Rest at link.)
When I began covering the illegals invasion (demonstrations at the capitol in Sacramento and down in LA back in 2006), I learned a lot from my research because quite frankly, I was focused on the spraying of our skies, getting rid of the “FED” and so many other issues destroying this country.
One thing I did learn was how horrible LEGAL, seasonal workers primarily from Mexico, were treated by greedy farmers – especially in California. Bent over all day in blistering heat to pick strawberries and then get treated little better than the slaves brought to America.
Rees Lloyd is another one of NWV’s outstanding writers [his bio here]. A champion and lawyer for our veterans. He also wrote a touching and historically factual essay about Cesar Chavez – who was an American not a Mexican or communist. I think today if Americans knew the truth about how seasonal workers (mostly from Mexico) used to be treated, they would be absolutely appalled. Truly, little better than mistreated cattle. March 31: Cesar Chavez Day: Honoring an American Hero
There used to be what was referred to as Braceros who were given legal permission to enter the U.S. to fill the huge gap for farm workers because of wars and “Americans didn’t want to work the fields”. (Baloney) In the end, the whole program went down the crapper. The program didn’t end or even dent the number of illegal aliens coming into the country.
Braceros: History, Compensation: “The UFW testified in Congress in support of employer sanctions, fines on employers who knowingly hired illegal workers. Chavez complained bitterly about the use of unauthorized Mexican migrants. UFW-called strikes for higher wages and benefits were often broken by contractors with crews of unauthorized workers, and many of the contractors stayed in business.
“By the early 1980s, the UFW was losing members and contracts, contractors were expanding rapidly, and labor costs fell with stable farm wages and disappearing fringe benefits. This “downward spiral” in the farm labor market was expected to be reversed by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, which aimed to legalize farm workers and stop illegal immigration. In order to retain these newly legalized farm workers, the theory went, farmers would have to offer higher wages and benefits. However, with illegal immigration continuing, farmers did not have to offer higher wages and benefits.
“Compensation. About 10 percent of the wages earned by Braceros between 1942 and 1949 were withheld by US farmers and sent by US banks to Mexican banks. These forced savings often disappeared, and the Mexican government said it had no record of what happened to these forced savings.” Act surprised.
After Reagan sold us out by giving amnesty to illegals(4] (video words right out of his mouth, his master plan also flopped and the illegals kept coming stealing jobs that belonged to natural born or naturalized citizens. Then came the illegitimate Biden criminal administration and we are now over run with illegals stealing our resources, collapsing our medical system, raping, robbing, murdering and profiting from drug and arms sales. The ONLY way to stop it as I have written since 2014 is to stop ALL welfare at all levels of government, state and federal. That will and is already happening: thousands, not hundreds, thousands have now crossed back over into Mexico because they know the “free” is just about over. If they do so legally, just like both sets of my grandparents, they can then apply to enter the U.S. and become American citizens.
I bring this up this history because I am beyond disgusted with this:
Well, Mr. President, I voted for you three times and I am PISSED about this repeat of Ronnie Reagan opening the flood gates. Emphasis mine.
“He appeared to credit his Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins for the idea. “You’re the one that brought this whole situation up,” Trump said to Rollins from the stage.
“You had cases where, not here, but just even over the years, where people have worked for a farm, on a farm, for 14, 15 years, and they get thrown out pretty viciously, and we can’t do it,” the President told the crowd. “We’ve got to work with the farmers and people that have hotels and leisure properties too.”
“However, as The Gateway Pundit reported, deportations of illegal aliens, even the so-called “noncriminals,” are working for American workers. After a major ICE raid at Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha, Nebraska, every seat in the plant’s waiting area was filled with prospective new hires, just 48 hours after federal agents cleared out the illegals, none of whom were “violent offenders.”
Illegal means illegal, Mr. President whether the illegal alien (not migrant or undocumented workers) has been here 10 minutes or 30 years. You don’t reward those who violate our laws no matter how inconvenient it is for them and that’s EXACTLY the message being sent: Eh, so what if you snuck across the border 20 years ago, it’s okay. You’ll be rewarded. Not to mention the MASSIVE crime wave the fake Biden administration welcomed into our country. How utterly damn stupid and dangerous. ANY seasonal ag worker must be vetted or they don’t get a pass to work for decent wages and humane living conditions.
There are millions of Americans who want to work as demonstrated at many meat packing plants that have been raided and illegals taken into custody AND – hospitality industries. I’m sorry, President Trump but this STINKS. You and your adult children run YOUR hospitality holdings like hotels, golf courses, etc. This reeks of political nepotism and will continue to deny natural born and naturalized citizens the opportunity to get hired to take care of them and their families.
Amnesty for illegals is nothing more than rewarding them for violating OUR immigration laws. Neither my father or mother’s parents snuck into this country. They had to wait, but did it the right way and there was no welfare. You worked or you didn’t eat.
Do we need a new, workable, fair program just for seasonal ag workers where actually needed? Yes, we do Secretary Rollins and just who are you anyway? A lawyer who worked for our former corrupt deep state governor (TX), Rick Perry. Her confirmation was unanimous; she was endorsed by organizations who would profit the most. And, of course, Trump credits this damn amnesty plan to not only Rollins but his powerful Chief of Staff: Susan Wiles. If you don’t know who she is, you should. Mr. President, Who On Earth is Vetting Your MAGA Appointees? Part 2, Nov. 18, 2024, Kelleigh Nelson
“For the first time in my memory, a newly named Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, accompanied Trump to the White House meeting. She is Trump’s Gatekeeper. Her background is impressive, but it is not America First. Wiles openly states she disagrees with a lot of Trump’s policies.
“She is co-chair at Mercury LLC, a subsidiary of Omnicom, a global leader in marketing communications that makes money through its relationships with Ford Foundation, Uber, Kaiser Permanente, United Nations Foundation, Pfizer, Gilead and Bill Gates’ GAVI. Omnicom is a partner with the World Economic Forum, a promoter of DEI, who controls 1,500 marketing and communications agencies and provides brand and advertising services to over 5,000 clients in more than 100 countries. Susie has stated publicly that she is pro-trans and for open borders. She is not MAGA.
“She has been with Donald Trump since 2015, and especially active the last three years.
“In 2020, dissident physicians disagreed with the hospital protocols and Covid jabs and wanted to see President Trump. Attorney Tom Renz tells J.D. Rucker that Susie Wiles made sure those physicians were never allowed to see President Trump. Scroll to about 45 minutes into the video.” (Wiles to me is another Bob Barr.)
And speaking of food and farmers, the new MAHA movement (Make America Healthy Again) will only happen when Americans decide they want to be healthy and doctors don’t have to fear any longer for telling the truth about things like the COVID-19 gene therapy injections (legally a bio-weapon not a vaccine.) Too many untrained foreign doctors are here now who are in it for the money and don’t give a damn about you and I speak from experience. Most are glued to every word from big pharma.
There are so many web sites and substacks written by experienced, caring and courageous doctors it can take hours (or days) researching in an effort to separate the quacks and money grubbers from the “real McCoy”. Last week I had the pleasure of speaking with a doctor I happened to read about on a substack by A Midwestern Doctor. This posting by him shows the massive amount of money DemonRats (Democrat/Communist Party USA) have hauled in by big pharma; go take a look. Hypocrites and liars. Main substack for A Midwestern Doctor: “I write The Forgotten Side of Medicine where I expose pharmaceutical corruption and remarkable therapies lost to time for the health of humanity.”
I’ve been reading him, Dr. McCullough and so many others for years now but last week on A Midwestern Doctor, I happened to find Dr. Robert Yoho and spent hours reading his posts. DrYoho.com
Dr. Yoho provides for free so much of his work and research by other doctors not afraid of big pharma even though so many have been persecuted by witless political hacks on state health boards. His ebooks are free to download; I do recommend becoming a subscriber. Knowledge is power.
On this page – Surviving Healthcare – you’ll find an amazing list by category to get educated on “things” like DSMO. As I wrote above, I spoke at length with Dr. Yoho even though he’s in Europe right now; no need to tell you which country. I had sent him an email with a couple of specific questions and shock, he called me a couple hours later.
When I say his substack is worth a few dollars to subscribe (altho’ just about all is free (links provided), you will be amazed at what you learn – and hopefully un-learn pumped out by a corrupted medical system. Remember: There’s no money in the cure, only the treatment.
Some diseases can’t be cured – yet. However, through integrative medicine and such dedicated doctors and scientists, they are making a huge contribution for humanity. We know certain cancers are completely curable but cancer is a BIG MONEY INDUSTRY which I’ve written about many times: The Cancer Research Money Machine, Oct. 9, 2006 // Cures for Cancer – Congress Doesn’t Want You to Know, Oct. 6, 2012 // Is it Possible to Have a World Without Cancer & Autism?, April 25, 2022 (I have been taking B-17 since 1994.)
This was written by one of NWV’s brilliant writers, Joan Swirsky (what an amazing CV and life of experience in the medical field.) Looking For Answers to the Autism Epidemic in All the Wrong Places, April 21, 2023. (Too bad RFK, Jr. doesn’t seem to want to meet with Joan.)
I also highly recommend Kelleigh Nelson’s July 13, 2025, column AG Secretary Rollins is Still Working for the Kochs, NOT Trump and share it along with mine. Going back to the sickening legislation being drawn up to give illegals amnesty.
Americans must demand NO AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS, PERIOD. We are losing thousands of family-owned farmers every year to conglomerates who eventually will own and control ALL the food we are allowed to eat. Think not?
Send President Trump email – I do it all the time and only takes a few minutes; click here. He who yells the loudest gets the most attention. Shout down the roof to your U.S. Rep and Senator (the ones up for reelection next year; 1/3rd of the senate): NO AMNESTY FOR ANY ILLEGALS. Draft a bill for seasonal agriculture workers only as I covered above and they must be vetted. Lord, I’m so sick of RINO’s and just plain low IQ nitwits in CON-gress like AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Rosa Delauro, Mazie Hirono just to name a few.

Liar (Emphasis mine): La Reconquista: Mexican Senate President Floats a Plan to Annex Part of United States as Illegal Aliens Continue to Cause Mayhem in LA (VIDEO), June 11, 2025: “One of the most powerful leaders in Mexico is floating a plan for his country to seize a large chunk of the United States’ land as the riots in Los Angeles continue to rage.
“Señor Gerardo Fernández Noroña, the President of the Mexican Senate, responded to mayhem on Monday by promoting La Reconquista, a radical idea supported by individuals who want the American Southwest returned to Mexico…Fernández Noroña then held up the 1830 map, which shows the states of California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and more as part of Mexico.” Rest at link. Seize OUR land? In your dreams, buddy.
I guess Señor Noroña has either forgotten about the Guadelupe Hidalgo Treaty or chooses to make idiotic statements about returning the American Southwest to Mexico. National Archives: Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (1848)
“This treaty, signed on February 2, 1848, ended the war between the United States and Mexico. By its terms, Mexico ceded 55 percent of its territory, including the present-day states California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, most of Arizona and Colorado, and parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Wyoming. Mexico also relinquished all claims to Texas, and recognized the Rio Grande as the southern boundary with the United States.
“The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which brought an official end to the Mexican-American War (1846-48), was signed on February 2, 1848, at Guadalupe Hidalgo, a city to which the Mexican government had fled with the advance of U.S. forces.
“With the defeat of its army and the fall of the capital, Mexico City, in September 1847, the Mexican government surrendered to the United States and entered into negotiations to end the war…
“With the annexation of more than 525,000 square miles of land, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo extended the boundaries of the United States west to the Pacific Ocean. This agreement, along with the 1853 Gadsden Purchase, created the southern border of the present-day United States.
“The U.S. government paid Mexico $15 million “in consideration of the extension acquired by the boundaries of the United States” and agreed to pay American citizens debts owed to them by the Mexican government. Other provisions included the protection of property and civil rights of Mexican nationals living within the new boundaries of the United States, the promise of the United States to police its boundaries, and compulsory arbitration of future disputes between the two countries.”
$15 million bux in gold back then was a fortune. Señor Noroña needs a lesson in his own country’s history.
