That means Democrats are only going to double down on woke policies like biological men in women’s sports and open borders, two issues that repelled voters and fueled Trump’s landslide victory last November.
But there is an even bigger danger for Democrats, according to historian Victor Davis Hanson.
Hanson told Sean Hannity that Democrats are getting consumed by a monster of their creation as the base’s anger.
“They’re going to be bitten by their own creation, I think. It’s headed nowhere. It’s a lose-lose situation for them. That’s why they’re so angry, and especially because Donald Trump is doing so well. If Donald Trump would just fail, they would calm down. Every time they get angrier and angrier, the better,” Hanson said.
Hanson warned that Democrats unleashed a plague of hate among their voters by spending years demonizing Trump, which took the country to a dark place.
“No, they’re riding a tiger, and they can’t keep on it, and they can’t get off. And the tiger is the AOC squad lunatic fringe of their party. They’re violent, dangerous people,” Hanson declared.
Democrats were learning that firsthand.
One Democrat member of Congress told Axios that voters at a town hall meeting demanded they be willing to get shot in the service of resisting Trump.
“Some of them have suggested … what we really need to do is be willing to get shot,” the Democrat stated.
This Democrat expressed worry that their base wanted “blood” in the name of stopping Trump.
“Our own base is telling us that what we’re doing is not good enough … [that] there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public,” the Democrat added.
In Trump’s first term, a Bernie Sanders supporter attempted a mass assassination of GOP members of Congress.

And what worries Victor David Hanson and other conservatives is that the left’s hatred of Trump can’t be sated with simple political activism, and Democrats will up the ante on violence.
