At Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA jamboree this past weekend, Tucker Carlson asserted that Jeffrey Epstein was a Mossad agent doing his thing on behalf of Israel. Carlson assured his audience, “There is nothing wrong with saying that, there’s nothing hateful about saying that, there’s nothing antisemitic about saying that — there’s nothing even anti-Israel about saying that!” Further, “every single person in Washington, DC” thinks that Epstein was operating on behalf of the Mossad. “I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t think that,” he added.
As for Tucker’s assurances that “there’s nothing antisemitic about saying that — there’s nothing even anti-Israel about saying that,” he should be reminded that no man can be a judge in his own case.
I think Tucker’s act is highly calculated, but he seems not to be able to help himself either. The exaggeration is patent. Perhaps someone will ask for a list of his acquaintances who “think that.” Given its apparent length, however, Carlson could be asked to omit Darryl Cooper and Candace Owens — three or four of his most notable most notable acquaintances who “think that” will do.
I should add that John Schindler sketches the case for Carlson’s “disclosures” at Top Secret Umbra in his post “Your Guide to Epstein and Intelligence.” So there is that.
The Times of Israel includes a video clip of Carlson along with its story on Carlson’s latest “disclosures.” Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett responded here today on X (screenshot below).
“Naftali Bennett 012 ‘5nd1©@naftalibennett • 7h
g … As a former Israeli Prime Minister, with the Mossad having reported directly
to me, I say to you with 100% certainty: The accusation that Jeffrey Epstein somehow worked for Israel or the
Mossad running a blackmail ring is categorically and totally false. Epstein’s conduct, both the criminal and the merely despicable, had
nothing whatsoever to do with the Mossad or the State of Israel.
Epstein never worked for the Mossad. This accusation is a lie being peddled by prominent online personalities
such as Tucker Carlson pretending they know things they don’t. They just make things up, say it with confidence and these lies stick,
because it’s Israel. There’s a vicious wave of slander and lies against my country and my
people, and we just won’t take it anymore.”
Carlson responded to Bennett’s post on X: “You ‘just won’t take it anymore’? Instead of issuing threats on social media, why don’t you sit down for a rational interview on Jeffrey Epstein’s ties to the Israeli government? We’ll reach out to your office this morning.” My view is that the production of a list of Tucker’s most notable acquaintances who “think that” would be more enlightening.
