Here it is by the numbers we have thus far…better than 120 people died due to a catastrophic flash flood in Texas. Many people, mostly children, lost their lives at a Christian summer camp in that area. More than 170 people are missing.
What happened there was tragic, but liberals are celebrating it.
Sade Perkins was appointed to the Houston Food Insecurity Board in October 2023 by the late former Mayor Sylvester Turner. After the devastating flood, Perkins posted to TikTok stating that there was context that “needs to be said” regarding Camp Mystic. “I know I’m probably going to get cancelled for this, but Camp Mystic is a whites-only, girls’ Christian camp. They don’t even have a token Asian, they don’t have a token Black person. It is an all-white, white-only, conservative Christian camp. If you ain’t white, you ain’t right, you ain’t getting in, you ain’t going. Period.”
To be clear, Camp Mystic does not have a whites only policy so this liberal piece of crap is flat-out lying. I’ll have more to say about Camp Mystic later in this commentary.
Her evil tirade continued… “If this were a group of Hispanic girls out there, this would not be getting this type of coverage that they’re getting. No one would give a fuck. And all these white people, the parents of these little girls, would be saying things like, ‘They need to be deported, they shouldn’t have been here in the first place.’” She added that “these same MAGA Christians” would be “thrilled” if the victims “floating down that river” were LGTBQ.”
Perkins’ term on the board expired in January 2025, according to the city’s website, and Houston Mayor, John Whitmire says he’s is taking steps to permanently remove Perkins from the city’s food insecurity board, and she will not be reappointed.
Rightly so.
Meanwhile, Texas Tragedy – Liberal Depravity, a Houston pediatrician has been fired after she suggested that the children of Trump supporters who died in the Hill Country floods got what they deserved.
Propst took to social media and posted, “May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry.” She went on to state, “Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.”
Just imagine, a pediatrician…a doctor who cares, or supposedly cares for children celebrating when children die in a flash flood. That is NOT somebody people would want caring for their children under any circumstances, and apparently, Blue Fish Pediatrics, where this vile creature USED to work understands that. They FIRED her over the 4th of July weekend after the devastating flood, and her vile comments on social media.
I’ll go a step farther…she should have her medical license taken away so that she is never again in a position to treat anyone…anywhere.
Then there was this from the unhinged Rosie O’Donnell… “What a horror story in Texas.51 dead. More missing. Children at a camp. When the president guts all of the early warning systems and the weathering forecast abilities of the government, these are the results that we’re going to start to see on a daily basis.”
She wasn’t done as she went on to say, “He [Trump] put this country in so much danger by his horrible, horrible decisions and this ridiculously immoral bill that he just signed into law. As Republicans cheered, people will die as a result and they’ve started already.Shame on him. Shame on every GOP sycophant,”
So, according to this liberal idiot, Trump gutted the early warning system and the forecasting abilities of the government. Well, let’s just see about that. Cuts to NOAA, if they go into effect at all, aren’t set to do so until the next fiscal year, which doesn’t begin until October of this year…so there have been no cuts that would affect what happened in Texas. The forecasting center that handles that particular part of the great state of Texas is the National Weather Service office out of New Braunfels, forecasting for Austin, San Antonio and nearby areas. Normally there would have been two forecasters in that office on the day in question. Were there two forecasters in the office that day? No. There were five.
As for the early warning part of Rosie O’Donnell’s gross lie, those five forecasters issued storm watches and warnings starting a full twelve hours before the event. Not only that, but they issued flash flood warnings a full three hours before the flood actually hit the area.
The National Weather Service did exactly what they were designed to do, and had better than twice the number of personnel in the office due to expected conditions. Liberals who claim otherwise are liars.
To be fair, garden variety liberals aren’t posting their vile rants ad hoc, they’re taking their cues from the l mainstream liberal propagandist media, and one such DNC arm after another took great effort since the early moments of the 4th of July disaster to pump out false information, and why I believe they did so was two-fold. First, they are desperate to make President Trump into a villain, and second, it was because of their own party’s utter failures under the brain-dead autopen they covered for over the past four years.
Here are just s few examples. When a good deal of Maui burned, what did the Biden regime do? They said everybody who lost their home would get $700 dollars because FEMA didn’t have any money. When a train derailed in East Palestine, Ohio, what did the Biden regime do? Almost nothing except claim there wasn’t anything to see, as people were literally being poisoned. When a hurricane hit western North Carolina, what did the Biden regime do? They checked people’s addresses and names against voter registrations and refused to contact registered Republicans…before telling those hard-hit folks that FEMA was out of money. Then it came out that FEMA spent BILLIONS of dollars aiding and abetting ILLEGAL ALIENS.
Frankly, over the past decade, FEMA has also spent billions of dollars on what? CLIMATE CHANGE, so don’t even get me started on the liberal religion of climate change because obviously, it doesn’t matter how much of other people’s money you throw at it, you can’t change the weather. This happened in a place referred to as “flash flood alley, and a very similar event happened in the same place in 1987.
The Texas flood happened on Friday, July 4th. By Sunday, President Trump had FEMA on the ground as that was as fast as they could safely get into the disaster zone, and President Trump declared it a major disaster, and aid started pouring in. And oh, by the way, I guarantee you nobody was cross-referencing names and addresses against voter registrations. In fact, President Trump told Texas you’ll have whatever you need, Blackhawks, the military, whatever you need no hesitation, and no red tape.
What happened in Texas was catastrophic. It was a tragedy but it could have been mitigated, or perhaps prevented. Camp Mystic exists in a floodplain, next to a river that funnels water from upstream into that floodplain. It shouldn’t be there, and while other camps along other rivers have early warning systems built in, Camp Mystic did not. The fact that the first weather warnings were issued shortly after 1:00pm the prior day should have cause the camp’s directors to be on full alert, but they weren’t.
The flood hit with force at roughly 6:20am on the morning of July 4th, while campers and counselors were still sleeping, and by the time they realized what was happening, it was too late. That river, at the bottom of the funnel, rose nearly 30 feet in less than an hour, sealing the fate of so many people, including kids.
The camp should have been moved out of that floodplain decades ago, but it wasn’t.
Finally, I want to say something about the attitudes of some of those involved in such camps, specifically to the holier-than-thou sector.
Just a few days after the tragedy, there was a Pastor of some sort appearing on Fox News who essentially said that what happened at Camp Mystic was somehow, for some reason, part of God’s plan.
Bullcrap.
Sorry, but I will never buy into the notion that part of God’s plan is to let children, at a Christian camp or anywhere else for that matter, die. According to those who believe what I regard as pure nonsense, it’s all okay because those kids are now with Jesus.
Let me be clear, I believe that “religion,” and I don’t really care which religion, was invented in ancient times to either explain, give credit to, or blame for what ancient people could not explain. This is the 21st century, and we should all be living in a world more reliant on common sense and science than on ancient beliefs. To say that what happened in Texas was “part of God’s plan” is nothing more than an excuse to not think, or to not take any personal responsibility for things that happen.
Giving God credit for the death of children at a summer camp is equally as mindless and idiotic as blaming Trump for the death of children at a summer camp. I contend that in both cases, it is nothing more than virtue signaling with no basis in reality.
Having faith is a good thing, but having blind faith, at best is an excuse not to think, and at worst, is very dangerous.
What happened along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, Texas, which claimed the lives of so many wasn’t the result of climate change any more than it was part of God’s master plan. It was the weather, not the fault of any human, and it was nothing new, as that area has been prone to flooding all along. It was tragic, mitigateable in its outcome but no more preventable in its scientific cause than was the vile reaction by liberals to it.
That’s the bottom line..
