Two things can be true at the same time. We have multiple people – Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino – at the highest levels of government saying that Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide. And those same people badly botched the release of the information around the Epstein story.
I’ll be honest – I’m with President Trump on this one. I’m tired of giving Jeffrey Epstein, a dead pedophile, any more attention. Though it really isn’t Epstein that is getting the attention – it’s whether or not there were other people, aside from Epstein and his madam/girlfriend/partner-in-crime Ghislaine Maxwell, who also used and abused underage girls.
Now, a lot of the evidence is tied up in Maxwell’s current court appeal, and cannot be released. According to the memo, much of the files is comprised of child pornography that also cannot be released. The problem is that Bondi, in particular, overpromised and underdelivered when it came to the Epstein files. The calling in of conservative influencers to hand them binders full of already-released information was a massive PR disaster, and created a lot of hard feelings toward Bondi, who had previously had the support of the Trump-voting base.
Now, ever since they have had access to the files, Kash Patel and Dan Bongino have both asserted that Epstein committed suicide.
Bongino has repeated that in different interviews as well.

Those who want to believe that Epstein was murdered have to forget that he had one documented suicide attempt weeks before he was found dead, and that there were a lot of shenanigans happening in the Metropolitan Corrections Center that led to other people being charged. Remember, Epstein’s own family did not want to believe that he had committed suicide, which has helped feed the homicide theory. And Bondi’s explanation for the missing minute glitch in the released video could very well ring true, but also helps fuel the conspiracy theories.
At this point, short of releasing a video of Epstein actually committing suicide, nothing will satisfy those who want to believe in the murder conspiracy. And even if there was such a video, there would be claims of manipulation. People will either have to accept the DOJ’s conclusion – from two different administrations – or not.
The bigger problem at the moment is the so-called “Epstein list.” There was a broad assumption that Epstein was trafficking girls, which was buoyed by the Virginia Giuffre lawsuit and settlement against Prince Andrew. The confirmation by the DOJ memo that there were “over one thousand victims” makes it seem easy to believe that Epstein and Maxwell were basically running an underage brothel for the rich and famous. But Giuffre also ended up dropping lawsuits and recanting accusations against others. No one doubts that Giuffre was abused by Epstein, and led a deeply troubled life after that abuse and died by suicide herself.
The DOJ memo said that there was no “Epstein list” or blackmail scheme, and that no one else will be charged in connection with these child sexual explotation crimes. That part of the memo, that says there is no list and no one else responsible besides Epstein and Maxwell, has created turmoil among MAGA faithful, political pundits, and many others. But is that turmoil also happening within the Department of Justice itself? Reportedly, Dan Bongino took Friday off after a reported argument with Bondi on Wednesday, and the rumors are swirling that he wants her gone, or he will leave.
Bongino is reportedly furious with Attorney General Pam Bondi over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, which has led many to believe he could walk away from the job that he took in February. The source close to Bongino said that he’s effectively issued an ultimatum, saying he won’t work alongside Bondi.
The rift between Bongino and Bondi intensified on Wednesday, days after the Department of Justice announced there was no evidence to prove that child rapist Jeffrey Epstein had a client list, had blackmailed powerful people, or had been murdered. Bondi had promised to reveal major details in the case five months ago, when there were no massive revelations to bring forward.
The deputy FBI director, who raised questions about Epstein’s death before he was in the Trump administration, said in May that his review of the file and hours of video recording from Epstein’s jail proved that the child abuser committed suicide. FBI Director Kash Patel also said that the evidence the bureau has reviewed shows that Epstein was not murdered.
A source close to the Justice Department told The Daily Wire that Patel also wants Bondi gone, and that he would consider departing alongside Bongino. The source also said that Patel wants Bondi to unseal more documents.
Now, Bongino is considering sending in his resignation over the fallout with Bondi. While it remains unclear if Bongino will step down, his normally active official social media account has been quiet since Wednesday, when his frustration with Bondi reportedly boiled over.
It’s worth remembering that limited facts and speculation are what create conspiracy theories and allow them to flourish, so it isn’t surprising that the White House wants any conjecture about the internal workings of the DOJ shut down immediately.
Sources close to Bondi say she has no intention of stepping down and is proud of the department and its work. Patel, too, says he is happy with his job and has no intention of leaving, a source in close contact with the director told Fox News Digital.
“President Trump has assembled a highly qualified and experienced law and order team dedicated to protecting Americans, holding criminals accountable, and delivering justice to victims. This work is being carried out seamlessly and with unity,” White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields told Fox News Digital. “Any attempt to sow division within this team is baseless and distracts from the real progress being made in restoring public safety and pursuing justice for all.”
Earlier on Friday, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche also pushed back on reports of internal strife.
“I worked closely with @FBIDirectorKash and @FBIDDBongino on the joint FBI and DOJ memo regarding the Epstein Files,” Blanche posted on X. “All of us signed off on the contents of the memo and the conclusions stated in the memo.
“The suggestion by anyone that there was any daylight between the FBI and DOJ leadership on this memo’s composition and release is patently false.”
Additionally, there is reporting that Bondi, Patel, and Bongino all collaborated on the memo.
NEW: Source close to DOJ leadership tells me “Deputy Attorney General Blanche, Kash Patel, and Dan Bongino started drafting the released memo in early July and worked on it through July 4 weekend. After providing some edits, Kash and Dan signed off on the strategy and contents.… https://t.co/AJLnDwUj84

So, what went wrong between Bondi and Bongino? Are there more files that could be redacted and released, or would that just keep fanning the conspiracy flames? Or is the mere mention of a spat between the two going to keep this going? And is Trump hearing this response from the crowd?
Damn sounds like whoever nominated Pam Bondi to be AG has terrible judgment, huh? https://t.co/Hf8WeYuB5f

Bondi may have seen her status within the administration take a hit, but that may not mean she is out. And it doesn’t necessarily mean that Bongino is going to leave, either. What should happen is some kind of extensive press conference, preferably from Pam Bondi, that directly addresses the homicide conspiracy and the client list issue. That particular question of a client list is not going away, especially not when Alan Dershowitz is claiming he knows who is on it. The problem is, even if Bondi came forward and said, “look, we know who Epstein trafficked girls to, but the statute of limitations has passed/no one wants to testify/we can’t win a case after so many years” and it was the truth, there will always be those who will insist that she is covering something up. Did Pam Bondi botch the release of the information? Absolutely. Is she covering up The Truth™ in order to protect anyone? Well, does it benefit her or the administration to cover it up? If there is some kind of grand conspiracy to protect the rich and powerful from being outed as Epstein clients, does it help or hurt the Trump administration to keep it going? I have no answers, but one reported disagreement between Bondi and Bongino shouldn’t be enough to build a whole new conspiracy upon.
