A desperate search is underway for 7-year-old Jamal White after he was reportedly abducted at gunpoint outside his Milwaukee home on Friday evening.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, Jamal was taken around 7 p.m. on July 11 by a man who forced him into a white Jeep Renegade SUV. The suspect, who has not been identified, was described as a Black male wearing a black hoodie and a black face mask. The SUV’s license plate is currently unknown.
Jamal is four feet tall, weighs about 80 pounds, and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
An Amber Alert was issued shortly after the reported abduction, as law enforcement works to track down the vehicle and bring Jamal home safely. No additional details about the circumstances of the abduction have been released.
In a heartbreaking message posted to Facebook, a woman identifying herself as Jamal’s grandmother shared the family’s agony.
“We are exhausted and haven’t gotten any sleep,” she wrote. “We’re still praying and asking the community to join us in prayer and stay alert. Please be on the lookout for this white Jeep Renegade. Every set of eyes helps.”
Authorities are urging anyone who spots the vehicle or has information to contact the Milwaukee Police Department at (414) 935-7242 or dial 911.
