California lawmakers are using taxpayer money to deliver food to illegal immigrants sheltering at home due to ICE raids.
The Culver City Council approved a $50,000 grant this week to assist “immigrants impacted by recent federal immigration enforcement.”
Half of the money is earmarked for the local YMCA to provide “daily sustenance for people who do not have income,” according to Mayor Dan O’Brien.
The YMCA delivers food to the homes of people who are “afraid to leave their homes due to immigration enforcement,” according to the council.
The other half of the grant is allocated to legal aid for immigrants.
