A devastating side effect of Trump Derangement Syndrome is losing all humanity.
Unfortunately, Americans witness this on a near-daily basis these days, and political cartoonist Adam Zyglis, from the Buffalo News, is yet another example.
“Tomorrow’s lines… that argument’s gone in a flash,” Zyglis wrote when posting his cartoon that appeared to mock Texas flood victims on Monday. He also included tags for “noaa,” “national weather service,” “doge,” “cuts,” and “maga.”

Zyglis is but one of many leftists who apparently feel vindicated by the deaths of people, including children, they perceive as conservative, Trump supporters.
“It’s shameful and disgusting that in the wake of tragedy, the left’s first instinct is to lie and politicize a disaster to target their political opponents,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital. “False claims about the NWS have been repeatedly debunked by meteorologists, experts, and other public reporting. The NWS did their job, even issuing a flood watch more than 12 hours in advance. The Trump Administration is grateful to the first responders who sprang into action to save hundreds of lives during this catastrophe, and will continue to help the great state of Texas in their recovery efforts.”
Zyglis was roundly slammed on X for his cruel take:
DISGRACE: @TheBuffaloNews runs a VILE cartoon by artist Adam Zyglis, appearing to mock Texas families affected by the floods because they voted for Trump pic.twitter.com/PJkodyXFsI

I’ve held my tongue on this, but I can hold it no longer…
Not a single one of these newspapers ever said a word about Joe Biden and the disaster that was Hurricane Helene.
Not a hint of blame.
Watching the contrast is so eye-opening.
These are evil, evil people in the media.

Mocking flood victims because they voted wrong?
These people aren’t journalists, they’re activists with a sketchpad.
The mask slipped long ago… and now they’re drawing it.
Why is cruelty the new currency of the media class?

Absolutely revolting. Those poor kids and grieving families. @TheBuffaloNews should issue an apology and retraction.

Also disgraceful that these smooth-brained liberal shills actually BELIEVE it was Trumps fault.
Do any of them seek the truth, or are leftists satisfied with propaganda?— SeaStoner (@CherylStoner14) July 9, 2025
