The U.S. Supreme Court has been pretty good to President Donald Trump and his administration since he entered his second term in the White House.
According to CBS News, the Trump administration scored another major win at the hands of the high court this week after it was determined that the administration now has the green light to deport “a group of migrants with criminal records held at a U.S. naval base in Djibouti.”
The outlet reported that the high court’s decision clarified the “scope” of an earlier decision regarding the deportation of migrants to countries other than their country of origin.
The Trump administration and supporters celebrated the huge Supreme Court win as soon as the ruling came down.
What happened?
The Trump administration has made an increased number of emergency requests to the Supreme Court since Trump took office given that a large number of federal judges, most appointed by Democratic presidents, have worked overtime to halt Trump’s immigration agenda.
CBS News noted:
The high court’s follow-up ruling came after it paused a federal judge’s April injunction that prevented the Trump administration from deporting migrants to so-called third countries without first giving them notice of the destination and a chance to contest their deportation there by raising fears of torture, persecution or death.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi released a telling statement in the wake of the high court’s ruling on the matter.
“Yet another rogue district court judge has been rebuked by the Supreme Court thanks to the tireless work of dedicated DOJ attorneys. @POTUS will continue to exercise his full authority to remove killers and violent criminal illegal aliens from our country,” Bondi wrote.
