U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is one of the few Democrats who isn’t ashamed to love his country.
At least, that is according to a new poll the congressman shared on X while celebrating Independence Day.
It’s quite common in this day and age to hear people on the left disparage the United States and everything it stands for, while also arguing that illegal aliens should be allowed to stay to make a “better life” for their families. This is quite a confusing juxtaposition, but Fetterman is refusing to buy into the hypocrisy that his own party pushes.
Look:
Last week, Gallup polled only 36% of Democrats are “extremely or very proud” to be American.
In the greatest country in the world, that’s just wrong.
I’m unapologetically grateful for our nation and the American Way of Life—today, and always.
Happy Birthday, America. pic.twitter.com/OOKaaVJnud

X users stood with the senator, who is seemingly the last of the common-sense Democrats:
Let us know when you’re ready to switch to Republican.

Always refreshing to see a Dem I can agree with on fundamental issues. These things shouldn’t be controversial. Thank you

I’m relieved to hear at least one Democrat say, without shame, that the US is the greatest country in the world.
If we take this country for granted, and fail to appreciate what we have here, we risk losing it all.

Perhaps you are in the wrong political party…

64% of your party hates this country. Let that sink in.
