Former President Joe Biden’s aides thought fellow former President Barack Obama “was a pr*ck” because of the way he treated their boss, according to a new book by journalists Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf.
“There was a lot of overlap among aides to Obama and Biden, but to Biden loyalists, Obama was a pr*ck,” the book reads, according to a copy reviewed by The Guardian.
“They thought he and his inner circle had constantly disrespected and mistreated Biden, despite his loyal service as vice president,” the book continues.
The book, “2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America,” documents one example of this “pr*ck” behavior that occurred shortly after Biden assumed office in 2021.
“They [the aides] felt vindicated when for the first time during Biden’s presidency, Obama publicly returned to the White House and began by saying ‘Thank you, Vice President Biden,’” the book reads.
“Obama was quick to claim he was joking, but to Biden’s stalwarts it was merely the latest example of Obama’s arrogance,” it continues.

The book also talks about how Obama responded to Biden’s decision to run for reelection in 2024.
On Nov. 20, 2023, the then-president received a “happy birthday” call from Obama. During the call, Biden invited him to the White House for lunch. The lunch occurred a couple of weeks later in December and included Obama lecturing Biden about his campaign leadership.
“After the lunch, Obama did not leave the White House right away,” the book reads. “He stopped to visit with Biden’s senior staff, many of whom used to work for him, and shared his account of what he and Biden had discussed. Obama was more blunt with the staff. ‘Your campaign is a mess,’ he told them.”
Leading up to the election, Obama reportedly filmed videos to help Biden with online fundraising.
“In one clip, Obama reminded Democrats he had ‘won a couple of these’ elections, causing some of Biden’s aides to roll their eyes,” the book reads.
According to The Wall Street Journal, which has also reviewed the book, it includes other bombshells as well.
How Hunter Biden Helped Derail His Father’s Re-Election — our excerpt of “2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America” in today’s @WSJ: https://t.co/YRieeQOASg

For instance, the book reveals how Biden was distracted ahead of his infamous June 27, 2024 debate with then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump because of “his son’s legal travails.”
“The only thing I care about is that my son is not convicted,” he reportedly confided to a close friend at the time.
Recall that on June 3 of that year, Biden’s eldest son, Hunter, reported to a federal courthouse in Delaware to face felony charges for having lied on a gun purchase application and for having later possessed a gun despite being a drug addict.
The trial ended up exposing a number of “sordid secrets” from the Biden family.
“To prove Hunter Biden was abusing drugs when he purchased the gun, prosecutors planned to call three star witnesses: his ex-girlfriend, whom he met when she was a stripper; his ex-wife, the mother of three of his daughters; and Beau’s widow, with whom he started a romantic relationship after his brother’s death,” the Journal notes, based on info from the book.
But this was just one leg of the then-burgeoning scandal surrounding Biden’s son.

“Republicans in Congress were examining his overseas business dealings in Ukraine, China and other countries, for what would later turn into an impeachment inquiry,” the Journal notes.
“He was involved in a child-support case over a child he fathered with an Arkansas woman. And ethical questions lingered about sales of his paintings, which a New York gallerist was listing for $75,000 to $500,000 apiece—prices that critics said the works would never fetch without the artist’s surname,” the report continues.
And then just a few days before the infamous debate, the jury returned with a verdict of guilty on all counts, thus placing further stress on the then-president and his mental faculties.
