President Donald Trump says that he is disappointed in the Republican members of Congress who voted against his “big, beautiful bill.”
This comes, according to the Daily Caller, after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the package by a slim margin.
The bill has now made it through both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, meaning that all that was left for it to become law is for Trump to sign it, which he did on Friday.

“Disappointed”
The bill passed through the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 218 to 214. All Republicans voted in favor of the bill except for U.S. Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY), who both joined their Democrat colleagues in opposing the bill.
Trump spoke to Daily Caller White House Correspondent Reagan Reese about the two Republican no votes. He particularly singled out Fitzpatrick.
“Well, I was disappointed that he did that. There were two of them that voted no, so I was disappointed that he [Fitzpatrick] voted no,” the president said.
Fitzpatrick explained:
I voted to strengthen Medicaid protections, to permanently extend middle class tax cuts, for enhanced small business tax relief, and for historic investments in our border security and our military. However, it was the Senate’s amendments to Medicaid, in addition to several other Senate provisions, that altered the analysis for our PA-1 community.
Trump appears to have just ignored Massie’s dissent this time around, as he has been blasting the recalcitrant lawmaker for weeks now, going so far as to call him a “pathetic loser” for opposing the bill.
Looking forward
Trump, though, is not letting any Republican opposition bother him. Instead, he is focusing on the fact that the bill was passed.
In a social media message, after the bill was approved, he wrote:
The Republicans in the House of Representatives have just passed the “ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL ACT.” Our Party is UNITED like never before and, our Country is “HOT.” We are going to have a Signing Celebration at the White House tomorrow, at 4 P.M. EST. All Congressmen/women and Senators are invited. Together, we will celebrate our Nation’s Independence, and the beginning of our new Golden Age.
Trump continued with a preview of what he expects the bill to do for America.
He wrote:
The people of the United States of America will be Richer, Safer, and Prouder than ever before. Thank you to Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and all of the wonderful Republican Members of Congress who helped us deliver on our Promises, and so much more. Together, we can do things that were not even imagined possible less than one year ago.
The president concluded, “We will keep working, and winning — CONGRATULATIONS AMERICA!”
