According to The Daily Wire, the House of Representatives voted 218-214 to pass the president’s legislation on Thursday after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) delayed the vote with an hours-long speech.
Following Tuesday’s vote in the U.S. Senate and Thursday’s vote in the House of Representatives, the “big, beautiful bill” will now head to the president’s desk for Trump to sign into law.
Immediately following Thursday’s vote, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) tweeted, “We did it. Congratulations to @POTUS, @VP and their entire team for shepherding the One Big Beautiful Bill through the Senate and House so it can become the law of the land.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson shared a statement on Thursday afternoon from the House Republican Leadership, saying, “Republicans in Congress have succeeded in our mission to enact President Trump’s America First agenda. And importantly, we did it in record time, so that the effects of this nation-shaping legislation can be felt by the American people as soon as possible.”
House Republicans described the bill as “generational legislation” and explained that the bill “permanently lowers taxes for families and job creators, secures the border, unleashes American energy dominance, restores peace through strength, reduces spending more than any other bill ever has, and makes government more efficient and effective for all Americans.”
Vice President J.D. Vance congratulated everyone following Thursday’s vote. Vance admitted that he had doubts “at times” that Republicans would be able to pass the bill by July 4.
“But now we’ve delivered big tax cuts and the resources necessary to secure the border,” Vance added. “Promises made, promises kept!”
In a statement on social media, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent claimed that Congress passing the president’s “One, Big Beautiful Bill” has “set the stage for the next golden age” as the United States prepares to “celebrate the 250th year of our great nation.”
