House Republicans gathered with purpose Thursday, delivering for President Trump the crown jewel of his legislative agenda: the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
He wanted it signed by the Fourth of July — and so it was. The timing wasn’t incidental; it was symbolic. Independence Day meets economic renewal. The fireworks would be both literal and legislative.
Prior to the vote, Speaker Mike Johnson, steady at the helm, delivered a speech that was more sermon than stump. He reminded the chamber—and the country—why America remains different.
“See, we are the first nation in the history of the world that acknowledged our rights do not derive from government, they come from God,” Johnson said. “You see those words up there? It says, ‘In God we trust … We’re different. We’re distinct. We’re exceptional because we acknowledge that right there.”
JUST IN: Mike Johnson is dropping TRUTH NUKES right now on the floor.

The bill vote lasted just over 15 minutes. In the end, it was 218-214, with just two Republicans, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, voting against the measure.
