The Senate was conducting serious business on Trump’s historic legislation.
But one unhinged protester couldn’t keep his mouth shut.
And a Florida man completely lost it during Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ debate and got dragged away by Capitol Police.
Disruptor targets Republican lawmakers during critical vote
Allen D. Rogers of Florida thought he could hijack the United States Senate and get away with it.
Rogers was dead wrong.
The Capitol Police arrested Rogers on Sunday evening after he started screaming at lawmakers from the Senate Gallery during debate on President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.”
Rogers lost his mind during the proceedings, shouting “you people are awful” and “you’re horrible” at Republican senators who were working to pass Trump’s agenda.
The disruption happened around 7:00 p.m. as senators were engaged in serious debate about Trump’s comprehensive spending legislation.
Republican Senator Dave McCormick of Pennsylvania was presiding over the chamber when Rogers began his outburst.
McCormick maintained order like a true professional, repeatedly stating “the Sergeant at Arms will restore order in the gallery” while banging his gavel.
Rogers clearly targeted his anger at Republicans who were supporting Trump’s bill, which includes critical funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement along with important tax relief for working families.
Rogers picked his moment carefully – shouting his attacks right after Bernie Sanders finished speaking and before Chuck Schumer took the floor.
With Democrats already pulling procedural stunts to slow Trump’s agenda, Rogers’ outburst looked like another coordinated effort to throw sand in the gears.
Capitol Police show Rogers the door
Rogers thought he was above the law and could disrupt the Senate without consequences.
Capitol Police quickly proved him wrong.
“At approximately 7:00 p.m., our officers arrested a man who started being disruptive in the Senate Galleries,” the U.S. Capitol Police confirmed in an official statement.
Rogers was charged with unlawful conduct after he refused to follow lawful orders from officers to stop his disruptive behavior.
The arrest came after Rogers ignored multiple warnings to cease his outburst and comply with the rules that govern conduct in the Senate Gallery.
Most of what Rogers screamed was barely intelligible, but his hatred for Republicans came through loud and clear.
Senate security acted swiftly to remove the disruptor and restore order to the chamber so serious legislative work could continue.
Rogers now faces the consequences of his decision to interrupt the people’s business in the United States Senate.
Schumer wastes everyone’s time with reading stunt
This wasn’t the first time someone tried to sabotage Trump’s bill.
Chuck Schumer had already staged his own theatrical performance over the weekend.
Schumer forced Senate clerks to read the entire 940-page bill aloud on Saturday, a process that took nearly 16 hours and bled well into Sunday.
The reading marathon was purely designed to waste time and prevent Republicans from moving forward with Trump’s agenda.
After his delay tactic concluded, Schumer had the nerve to post on social media claiming Republicans hadn’t read the bill.
“I just got off the floor,” Schumer wrote. “Republicans are squirming. I know damn well they haven’t read the bill, so we’re going to make them.”
The irony is that Schumer learned this trick from Republican Senator Ron Johnson, who used the same tactic in 2021 to delay Joe Biden’s American Rescue Act.
Johnson forced clerks to read the entire 628-page bill aloud in March 2021, which took over 10 hours.
Johnson actually had policy reasons for his move back in 2021, but Schumer’s version was pure political theater.
The Left knows Trump’s bill will work, and that scares them.
Trump’s bill delivers for working Americans
This legislation isn’t just another Washington spending package.
Working families who got hammered by Biden’s inflation will finally catch a break with real tax cuts.
Border security gets the funding boost it desperately needs through increased ICE resources.
Government waste gets trimmed in ways that’ll put money back where it belongs – in taxpayers’ pockets.
If Trump gets this signed, it proves he can actually get things done for regular people.
Schumer and his allies know that success makes their resistance look petty and pointless.
Rogers’ meltdown and Schumer’s all-nighter show just how desperate they’ve become.
But Republicans are standing firm and working to get this critical legislation across the finish line.
The American people elected Trump to deliver results, not to be blocked by partisan games and disruptive protesters.
After Sunday’s events, senators were set to begin 20 hours of debate evenly divided between both parties.
Democrats were expected to “squeeze every second from their allotted time” to further delay passage of the bill.
Meanwhile, most Republicans planned to use only a couple hours to make their case before moving to a final vote.
Some conservative senators like Rand Paul were expected to voice concerns about certain aspects of the legislation.
Most Republicans get it – this bill delivers the kind of real change voters demanded.
Sunday’s arrest shows that actions have consequences, even for protesters who think they can hijack the Senate.
Capitol Police handled the situation by the book and kept senators focused on the people’s business.
Trump’s agenda keeps moving forward, no matter how many roadblocks the opposition throws up.
