A Senate vote-a-rama regarding the One Big Beautiful Bill saw names named indicating which Democrats allegedly “want more illegals murdering and raping.”
After being read on the Senate floor, voting commenced on amendments to President Donald Trump’s OBBB Act Monday, with the Senate parliamentarian’s review holding. Despite calls to overrule determinations regarding the Byrd Rule threshold, a few defections were not enough to curb states from covering criminally convicted illegal aliens with Medicaid.
Boiling down the outcome of the vote on Texas Sen. John Cornyn’s (R) amendment, Politico reported, “Four Senate Dems backed Cornyn’s amendment to withhold some Medicaid funding from states offering coverage to undocumented immigrants who are charged or convicted of serious crimes.”
The report begged one question as the radical support in Congress appeared to be in favor of continued incentives for the most heinous offenders entering the country illegally, “Who are the 43 democrats that want more illegals murdering and [raping]?”

The actual summary of the amendment called for a reduction of the Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) in Medicaid expansion states, funding coverage of “aliens who are not qualified aliens and who … have been charged with or convicted of certain acts.”
Cornyn was made to call for the yeas and nays on the vote regarding aliens charged with sex offenses, child pornography, domestic abuse, child abuse, human trafficking, murder, or manslaughter.
To that end, the only four Democrats that sided with the GOP were Sens. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, as well as Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock of Georgia.
Meanwhile, Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine sided with the Democrats on continuing to allow taxpayer money to support foreign nationals.
Cornyn’s amendment wasn’t the only one aiming to curb such spending, as Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R) sought to put a stop to “individuals without verified citizenship, nationality, or satisfactory immigration status” participating in federally funded Medicaid and CHIP. That amendment failed to clear the 60-vote threshold on strict party lines.
“Democrats just blocked my amendment to stop illegal immigrants from receiving Medicaid coverage,” wrote Blackburn on X. “Why do they want illegal aliens to receive government benefits on the taxpayers’ dime?”

Of course, given the histrionics from the left over mass deportations, there was little surprise over the Democrats in the upper chamber holding fast to the open border policies promulgated under the Biden-Harris administration.
At the same time, Senate leadership appeared at fault for going along with the threshold requirements based on the parliamentarian’s review, as the president echoed Florida Rep. Greg Steube (R), who asserted, “It is time for elected leaders to take back control. [Vice President J.D. Vance] should overrule the Parliamentarian and let the will of the people, not some staffer hiding behind Senate procedure, determine the future of this country.”
Instead, they appeared satisfied with the continued funding so long as the Democrats were on record with their support for it.
Commonsense amendment from @JohnCornyn!

Why is Republicans in control losing the vote to begin with?
Why didn’t Thune fire the parliamentarian?
