The number of women injured by abortion continues to rise in radicalized Illinois, a state that no longer requires abortion facilities to be inspected or regulated. Instead, the state apathetically leaves women to enter at their own risk.
As a result, a 30-year-old woman rushed to the emergency room from Planned Parenthood Aurora on May 15 brings a dangerously growing tally of injured women to 15 across seven Illinois abortion clinics in the last six months.
Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, comments, “It’s important to remember that these are just the injuries we know about – the ones reported to us by faithful pro-life advocates praying on the sidewalk and offering women far better options than unsafe, unregulated, abortion dumps. But those prayerful people can’t be out there every minute of every day. We have no doubt other emergencies are going unreported, obscuring the true bigger picture of what’s going on in Illinois.”

The Aurora Emergency
On May 15 around 11:00 AM, a Planned Parenthood staffer called 911, stumbling over her words as she hurriedly stated, “I work at Planned Parenthood and I need to call an emergency–I need to have a…ambulance come. I need to transfer a patient for hemorrhaging.”
According to the 911 records, the patient was a 30-year-old female. There is no indication of how far along she might have been in pregnancy. However, this location commits abortions well into the second trimester, and the later into a pregnancy the higher the risk of something like a perforated uterus, which is often indicated by significant, uncontrolled bleeding.
The Abortion Facility
This woman is not the first to be injured by Planned Parenthood Aurora. Since 2011, Operation Rescue has investigated more than a dozen injuries at this abysmal clinic, including a critical uterine perforation just three years ago.
Employees have also been caught withholding information during 911 calls. One past caller seemed incapable of providing basic information, even as a patient lay unresponsive. Another was unable to communicate whether a patient was breathing. In yet another case, the caller withheld vital information from both the 911 dispatcher and the parents of a suicidal minor.
‘No Sirens, No Lights’
Planned Parenthood Aurora also has another dangerous approach to 911 calls. In addition to often being unable, or just unwilling, to provide crucial details for patients in need of emergency care, staffers at this Planned Parenthood also request no lights and no sirens.
The May 15 call was no different. As the 911 dispatcher assessed information about a patient bleeding so much she needed an ambulance, the staffer suddenly said, “Can we have them, um–no sirens, no lights–and then could they pull to the furthest doors?”
“There is absolutely no justifiable reason to request no lights and no sirens in the midst of an emergency situation,” says Newman. “The only reason is to attempt to downplay or outright hide the fact that your clinic is sending a woman to the ER. Planned Parenthood asks for no lights and sirens to callously protect itself from any public scrutiny while the woman whose life is in real jeopardy is totally disregarded – just as the life of her child was when she came into a dangerous – and thanks to abortion radicals – completely unregulated abortion clinic.”
