Democrats are lashing out at the Supreme Court after Friday’s landmark ruling that slapped down activist judges and their nationwide injunctions that have been used to effectively nullify the 2024 election.
One left-wing senator took his grievances to the airwaves with Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) accusing the nation’s highest court of “assisting” President Donald J. Trump in undermining democracy, a flexible term that has been twisted into a pretzel by Democrats who have hijacked it as a cloak for their anti-American agenda.
During his appearance on this week’s edition of NBC Sunday morning flagship “Meet the Press,” Murphy whined to host Kristen Welker that the ruling in the birthright citizenship case will take the Democrat-appointed activist judges out of the game by depriving them of their ability to obstruct Trump’s reform mandate, especially when it comes to deporting illegal aliens.

Asked about the significance of the Trump v. CASA, Inc. ruling on birthright citizenship that neutered activist judges, the gaslighting Democrat accused the Supreme Court of being complicit in Trump’s undermining of “the rule of law,” more leftist claptrap from Murphy, an unrelenting critic of the president.
“By taking away the power of courts to restrain the president when he’s clearly acting in an unlawful manner, as he is when he says that children born in the United States are no longer citizens, you are assisting him in trying to undermine the rule of law and undermine our democracy,” he told Welker.
“It’s really dangerous because it will incentivize the president to act in a lawless manner because now only the Supreme Court, who can only take a handful of cases a year, can ever stop him from violating the laws and the Constitution.”
Murphy’s remarks are more of the same demonizing of the Supreme Court, which has been a regular target with the current 6-3 conservative composition of justices appointed by Republican presidents.
After Friday’s huge ruling, Chief Justice John Roberts warned about the rhetoric from “both sides” that he suggested could lead to violence against judges.

“It becomes wrapped up in the political dispute that a judge who’s doing his or her job is part of the problem,” the George W. Bush appointee said during remarks at the Judicial Conference of the Fourth Circuit in Charlotte, NC, on Saturday.
“And the danger, of course, is somebody might pick up on that. And we have had, of course, serious threats of violence and murder of judges just simply for doing their work. So, I think the political people on both sides of the aisle need to keep that in mind,” Roberts said.
The chief justice did not name anyone specific, but Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) threatened Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch in an angry rant over a 2020 abortion rights case.

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch; I want to tell you, Kavanaugh: You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price,” the top Senate Democrat raged before a mob of angry protesters. “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
“Statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous,” Roberts said at the time.
Roberts also scolded Trump over his call for U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg to be impeached earlier this year.
