Podcaster Joe Rogan raised the alarm about how the bread eaten by Americans is “poison” compared to that in other countries.
The host of The Joe Rogan Experience addressed his fears over the ingredients in bread, speaking with comedian Jim Norton, who railed about how “f**ked” the bread in the U.S. is and the difference between bread eaten in America and that eaten in Europe.
“Our bread is f**ked… Go eat bread in Italy. You won’t feel bad at all. We’re f**king poisoned,” Rogan said.

“Simpson sent me this and he said, ‘I think I’m done with bread,’ and I was like… oh my God, this is kind of crazy,” the podcast host continued, referring to a video on social media sent to him by stand-up comedian Brian Simpson.
“It won’t matter if it’s World War 3, but if it’s not World War 3, probably stay away from bread,” Rogan said, clarifying he meant American bread while suggesting listeners “eat sourdough bread,” which he said “is f**king great for you.”
He then played the video that showed Dennis Echelbarger, whom Rogan said created the clip, explaining the difference in breads.
“What we call bread can’t even be considered food in parts of Europe. See, here in America, it’s not so much the gluten as what we’ve done to the grain,” he said. “About 200 years ago, we started stripping the bran and germ of the fiber in nutrients to make flour shelf stable, also nutritionally dead.”
“Because the nutrients were gone, we enriched it with folic acid, which a large majority of the population can’t even metabolize; therefore, many people experience fatigue, anxiety, hyperactivity, and inflammation. But then the bread wasn’t white enough, so they bleached it with chlorine gas,” he continued.
“The bread didn’t rise enough, so they added a carcinogen called potassium bromate, which is banned in several countries like Europe, the UK, and even China. Then we wanted to ramp up production, so we started using glyphosate to dry out the wheat before harvest, causing endocrine disruption and damaging your gut,” Echelbarger explained.
“So now you’re bloated, brain fogged, tired, and blaming gluten. But gluten is just the scapegoat,” he said.
The video clip contends that the “real issue is ultra processed, chemically altered, bleached, bromated, fake vitamin filled wheat soaked in glyphosate. This isn’t bread.”
Rogan declared that the clip is something “for everybody to see.”
“I know when I cut that stuff out of my diet, it makes a difference,” he revealed. “Most of the bread you’re getting in America is like that guy described, and that’s why you feel like s**t when you eat it.”
