A father is being hailed as a hero for the lengths he went to after his daughter went overboard on a Disney Dream cruise.
What was supposed to be a fun-filled family vacation turned into a nightmare for one father after his daughter fell over the side of the massive $900 million ship as it sailed back to Fort Lauderdale from the Bahamas. Fellow passenger Dewayne Smith posted about the frightening scene on Facebook.
Look:
“We are on the Disney Dream at sea today and just witnessed a first on a cruise. A little girl fell overboard and her dad jumped overboard to try to save her. Man overboard calls went up immediately. The Disney crew went into action asap. Lots of praying folks on this ship! Both the little girl and dad were both successfully rescued!” he posted.
Indeed, the father immediately leapt from the side of the ship to save his little girl, and a “Mr. M.O.B.” alert, meaning “man overboard,” was announced on intercom. The crew raced to deploy a rescue boat into the choppy waters and were able to successfully rescue the pair.
Video of the rescue was posted to social media, showing stunned and horrified onlookers watching the rescue crew bring the father-daughter duo back to the safety of the vessel.
