ConservativeHome understands that Lord Mark McInnes CBE has been appointed by Kemi Badenoch as the new CEO of CCHQ, taking over the day to day running from Rachel Maclean.
Maclean – the Party’s Director of Strategy since Badenoch’s appointment – is set to move to a new role supporting the Tory leader’s Renewal 2030 programme.
Lord McInnes worked for the Conservative Party from 1999 to 2021, becoming Chief Executive of the Scottish Conservatives in 2011 and playing a key role in the Party’s revival under Ruth Davidson.
He was seconded full-time to the successful cross-party Better Together campaign in the Scottish independence referendum.
He was appointed a CBE in recognition of his political service and made a member of the House of Lords in 2016.
