Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students in 2022, has agreed to plead guilty in a deal to avoid the death penalty. Multiple reports confirm the 30-year-old will serve four life sentences without the possibility of parole.
The victims—Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves—were brutally stabbed in their off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho. Prosecutors revealed the plea to the victims’ families in a letter, prompting outrage and heartbreak.
The trial was originally set for August but now may not proceed. Kohberger’s DNA was tied to the crime scene, and the case has gripped the nation for nearly three years.
