A sitting U.S. Congressman has demanded an investigation and potential denaturalization of New York Assemblymember and Democratic New York City mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani, citing alleged pro-terrorist sympathies. In response, one of the most dangerous Islamic figures in America, Imam Yasir Qadhi, the spiritual leader of EPIC Masjid in Texas, erupted with rage. Qadhi defended Mamdani, attacked America, and praised a new generation of pro-Hamas politicians.
Qadhi smeared Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) as a “racist bigoted Islamophobe” and declared “[W]e need tens, nay hundreds, of Mamdani-esque politicians…”
In a separate Facebook post, Qadhi framed Mamdani’s election as a blow to AIPAC and the “Zionist project,” celebrating what he described as the collapse of Israel’s political hold over America.
“Mamdani’s victory… represents a loss for key billionaire AIPAC supporters, and hence for the Zionist project,” Qadhi said. “The spell that Israel had over America seems to have finally lifted, and we can breathe free at last.”
Rep. Ogles’ Call for Investigation
On June 26, 2025, Rep. Ogles submitted a formal letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate whether Zohran Mamdani should be subject to denaturalization proceedings under 8 U.S.C. § 1451(a) for misrepresenting his pro-terrorist sympathies in order to gain citizenship.
This concern arises from public reports, including a June 21, 2025, New York Post article, which alleges that Mamdani expressed solidarity with individuals convicted of terrorism-related offenses and praised the Holy Land Foundation (HLF), convicted in 2008 for supporting Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization.
The accompanying illustration features Ogles (presumably) with a raised hand, wearing a tie with an American flag pattern, and Zohran Mamdani holding red books with the communist Hammer & Sickle symbol. The image is appropriate. As reported at RAIR Foundation USA, Zohran Mamdani, a member of Democratic Socialists of America, represents the Red/Green Axis.
Qadhi Lashes Out against Ogles, Americans, & Muslims Who Disagree
“A sitting US congressman from Tennessee officially petitioned the Department of Justice to deport Mamdani and strip him of his citizenship,” Qadhi raged on X. “Sacrilegiously and mockingly, he brought in the name of our Prophet ﷺ in an attempt to smear him,” he fumed.
Qadhi continues:
Meanwhile, some of our dawah folks are busy debating the level of Mamdani’s faith and commitments to Islam.
The people this racist bigoted Islamophobe are appealing to – and sadly, they are in the tens of millions across this country – could care less regarding your idealistic pietistic categorizations of Mamdani and other politicians.
Here, Yasir Qadhi unleashes his frustration on multiple fronts, targeting Rep. Andy Ogles, the Americans who echo his sentiments, and even members of his own community. Qadhi brands Ogles a “racist bigoted Islamophobe” whose prejudice appeals to “tens of millions” of Americans.

But Qadhi’s ire doesn’t stop there. He turns his criticism inward, slamming some Muslim “dawah folks” for their “idealistic pietistic categorizations” of Zohran Mamdani’s faith and commitment to Islam. He sees their focus on dissecting Mamdani’s religious credentials as a pointless distraction, irrelevant to the broader fight against what he sees as the Islamophobia fueling Rep. Ogles’ attack.
For Qadhi, these internal debates only fracture the community when unity is needed most, as the real threat lies in the bigotry that Rep. Ogles and his supporters represent.
Qadhi continues:
We need tens, nay hundreds, of Mamdani-esque politicians (Muslims and non-Muslims) who can stand up to the genocide-hungry, AIPAC-fueled, lobby-based politicians we currently have. Don’t ask them for religious fatwas, and inform them when they are morally wrong on some issues. Yet still, understand that in the grand scale of things, their presence brings much good to humanity and society – far greater than those who vote for genocide and dare mock our Prophet ﷺ.
A Pattern of Incitement: From Mamdani to the Minbar
Qadhi’s aggressive defense of Zohran Mamdani comes just days after he used a globally broadcast Friday sermon to launch an even more incendiary ideological assault, this time from the taxpayer-funded pulpit of EPIC Mosque in Plano, Texas.
On June 21, 2025, Qadhi delivered what may be the most openly sectarian and politically subversive sermon in recent American history, titled “Fitnah and Foresight: Israel & Iran War.” In it, he defended the Iranian regime, vilified America and Israel, and repeatedly referred to non-Muslims as “Kaffir”, a slur embedded in jihadist doctrine.
The so-called sermon was an ideological blueprint for global Muslim unity against Western powers, glorifying attacks on Israelis and mocking Jewish civilians fleeing Iranian rocket fire. Qadhi even invoked TikTok propaganda to radicalize youth, describing Israeli civilians as gluttonous monsters who “run away in the tens of thousands.”
“The spell that Israel had over America seems to have finally lifted,” Qadhi declared from the very same pulpit where he had celebrated Mamdani’s political rise.
Marxism & Apocalyptic Twelver Ideology is Great. Islamophobia is the Problem
Qadhi is fine with Zahran Mamdani’s history of supporting terrorism (which runs in his family), his apocalyptic Twelver ideology, and his Marxist background. Qadhi further condemns “genocide-hungry, AIPAC-fueled, lobby-based politicians”.
The radical Imam posted a video statement echoing these sentiments:
“The campaigns launched against him [Mamdani] explicitly brought in Islamophobia—explicitly,” Qadhi ranted. “There were websites calling him a jihadist, a stealth this and that. The far right, the MAGA, and the Trump supporters were literally saying that he’s going to bring another terrorist attack or do this and that. The most vile, blatant Islamophobic tropes were used publicly against him.”
Yasir Qadhi’s full-throated support of Zahran Mamdani reaffirms RAIR Foundation USA’s Amy Mek’s ongoing warnings about the radical Imam, who is using his EPIC City as a launch pad for Islamic infiltration into the institutions of America.
Consider that Qadhi is not at all concerned about Zahran Mamdani’s support, as evidenced in his rap song, of the five leaders of the “now-defunct Texas-based Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development” – Shukri Abu Baker, Mohammad El-Mezain, Ghassan Elashi, Mufid Abdulqader, and Abdulrahman Odeh – who were all convicted in 2008 by a federal jury of funding Hamas.”
The Holy Land Foundation trial resulted in the largest terrorism financing prosecution in U.S. history.
CAIR’s Role and Broader Connections
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was intertwined with Zohran Mamdani’s campaign and is a strong ally of Yasir Qadhi.
Consider the connections:
- The Hamas-linked CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2007 Holy Land Foundation trial.
- Mamdani rapped about his support for those who were convicted for diverting money to Hamas.
- CAIR funded Zahran Mamdani’s campaign to the tune of $100k.
- CAIR Leader Nihad Awad addressed Yasir Qadhi’s EPIC Mosque on August 30, 2024, where he “laid out a detailed plan for an ‘army’ of ‘50,000’ Muslim journalists, lawyers, politicians, and activists who will infiltrate every corner of American life.”
- Just days after the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attack against Israel, CAIR sponsored a “teach-in and supplication for Gaza.” The discussion included Omar Suleiman, Yasir Qadhi, American Muslims for Palestine’s Outreach Director Taher Herzallah, Palestinian Activist and Attorney Noor Wadi, and CAIR executive director Nihad Awad.
- Speaking of Omar Suleiman, on November 24, 2024, he posted his support of the “Holy Land 5”, who were convicted of financing the terrorist organization Hamas.

Get that?
CAIR, tied to Hamas and an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2007 Holy Land Foundation trial that Mamdani glorified through his rap song, bankrolled Zahran Mamdani’s campaign with $100k, while its leader Nihad Awad, addressing Yasir Qadhi’s EPIC Mosque on August 30, 2024, unveiled a strategy to deploy 50,000 Muslim influencers across American institutions.
Meanwhile, shortly after the October 7, 2023, Hamas terror attack on Israel, Yasir Qadhi and his ally Omar Suleiman took part in a CAIR event featuring CAIR leader Nihad Awad. Omar Suleiman later also expressed his support for those convicted in the HLF trial.
Terrorist supporters are in our midst, and it is time for all Americans to demand more from politicians, who have been looking the other way for decades.
